If Lightning Map is correct, my old smoking area got a bolt of lightning right in that area.
-
Seems to be really gaining intensity to the north north east of us, getting some lovely flashes now.
-
Getting biblical rainfall and lightning regularly now, capturing hopefully some nice shots.

Could you please put your location in your profile, it helps when trying to track weather events. Cheers.

I'm in Woodley and Lightning mapper has this one just South of Twyford, just had another as we speak.
-
Visible Lightning! yes!!!!
-
audible thunder in East Reading, looks like out to the south still by some miles.
-
Seems to be frustratingly slowing down as it hits Basingstoke and Hook but accuweather is suggesting the best is coming this way.

Backbuilding? Seems to be dying at the front edge though!
The front edge seems to be losing momentum, you might be right.
-
Farnham is looking good right now.
-
completely naval grey overhead now and rain on the windows. It's not too far away now.

I'm changing my name to Mr A31, then.
That's an improvement on any of Pitbull's nicknames.

The A31 is getting some good action right now.
-
So the odds of this heading to Reading are pretty good now?

Looks like more is coming into the South West tip and another on a similar path to what is currently over the South out in the Channel.
-
Seems to have picked up a lot since it reached Southampton, still lightning strikes being recorded there too.

The Lightning seems at it's north most point to be about to reach Basingstoke, looks promising.
-
Just had our first rain in East Reading, clouds look wonderfully ominous out to the South now.
-
I'm quite intrigued by the fact lightning is being recorded up by Southampton, Fareham, The New Forest and now back by the Isle of Wight, very widespread compared to earlier though not regular, is that because the rain aspect is growing heavier?

Well there could be some surprise inland intensification and uplifting, but I reckon you're right. Fizzling out instead of intensifying seems to be the trend.
It feels ominous, though less humid than earlier and outside looks potentially promising but if there is any, it will be few and far between as my current guess, hopefully wrong though.
-
the rain seems to be flaring up on the radar quite rapidly now in the south, some of it looks very heavy too.

I can see this Bournemouth/coastal cell being purely rain by the time it gets to Reading.
-
It's not very intense and moving very slowly but seems to be gradually reaching the new forest.

Seems to be heading towards you and away from Bournemouth now.
