I bet there's loads and loads of earth like planets, we'll never know the full extent though given how huge the universe is but in all likelihood there's probably that many out there it is probably incalculable, that's either scary or interesting to some people. And because of that it's way over our heads and probably not worth speculating too much about.

There's also the possibility that the universe is infinite or there are an infinite number of universes in which case life on other planets is certain.

If this stuff is confirmed to be true and we are being engaged by a non-human intelligence then what could be more important to humanity? It would be the greatest revelation ever. Free (or very cheap) clean energy for a start...

Plus the ridicule factor, lack of places to report sightings outside of MUFON in the US...

If it is true then we're probably not being engaged, if anything it would suggest they're trying to avoid detection which would point towards them being hostile or at the very least unwilling to make contact.

Why are these 'aliens' mainly presenting themselves to US Army and Navy aircraft?

Surely, we should all be seeing them.

I suppose you're more likely to encounter them if you're in the air or have spy satellites, advanced radars etc.

Some good points made above although personally I'm sceptical that we have ever actually been visited by aliens. Probes are more possible but even that, too many people would've had to keep quiet. A lot of these visual phenomenon can be explained by other things. If they produce an actual physical object then fair enough but some grainy picture doesn't do it for me.

Just for clarity, we're still testing the disagree reaction currently, so it's there as an option. But it's back to being transparent in terms of who's given the reactions again 🙂

In terms of a heart or other positive option, we do have three in there already. It would feel like overkill, I think, to add more.

I feel like if people can see who posted the disagree reaction there are likely to be a lot of posts along the lines of 'why do you not agree with me @random poster'. It's more likely to interrupt threads with petty arguments and would be better hidden for me.

  5. I definitely agree on houses being poorly designed when it comes to hot weather. It probably feels less unpleasant in 35c in Spain than it does here at 25c indoors. I suppose there has to be a middle ground though, with such changeable weather we can't really build too far in favour of cooling or heating. Favouring keeping the heat in probably still makes sense in most areas but I could see that changing in the south in coming years.

  6. A little bit of rain here for the first time in 2 weeks today but not exactly torrential downpours so much as a couple of short showers. Looks like being back to hot and sunny for the rest of the week and possibly into the following week, wouldn't be surprised if there are water shortages if this continues into July.

Aye, but natural cycles can go both up and down; what we have now is just up? 🤔

Over how long though? 10, 20, even 100 years isn't that long in terms of long term weather cycles. I'm not saying it's not being caused by us but how much of it is being caused by us will always be open to debate as we just don't have the data to tell us exactly what the weather was doing thousands of years ago.

Have you noticed time seems to have ground to a halt too, just before the solstice. Can’t wait until we’re on the other side of that particular milestone.

Unfortunately July is usually the warmest month, the start of the football season is pretty much when the worst of the heat starts to wane.

Maybe not everybody, but the vast vast majority.

Not sure I'd agree with a vast majority. I'd imagine if you asked do you want 20c and sunny or 5c and raining then yes 90% would take the former. If you asked would you rather have 35c and sunny or 15c and cloudy it would be far more even or maybe even favouring 15c. Most people like mild but very warm becomes wearing quite quickly for most people.
