well january 3rd and still not seen a snowflake in west hull, winters really are poor for snow now in hull and surrounding areas.last really heavy snow event in hull was 12 years ago.kids in school now aged 12 or 13 have never seen a really heavy fall of snow in the hull area.

what a disappointing spell of severe cold weather in hull if you wanted snow.first day it set in last week, the evening produced some heavy showers from the north ,but all of rain, the next week was very cold and frosty, with not a snowflake in sight.finally yesterday we got a shower or 2 in the afternoon, but yet again it was rain.i hear they got a slight dusting in east hull, but in west hull nothing.

bet your life ,if any ex hurricanes arrive in september they will track nw of scotland and east yorkshire will end up dry and muggy

looks like hull has missed out on any rain.decent rainfall in the east riding is getting as rare as snowfall in a winter.we seem to be stuck with this semi permanent high stuck to the south of the uk in both aummer and winter.

nights are a lot warmer in both summer and winter in the cities and towns now.not surprising when all these idiots are concreting their front gardens to cater for polluting machines.talk about stupidity.

lets hope hull does better for snow tonight, this easterly is so far a bit underwhelming, like others have in last few years.light covering today, now melting away rapidly.
-
bit disappointed by latest bbc extended 10 day outlook, playing down the idea of really cold air they mentioned yesterday.im not seeing anything to suggest that east yorkshire will finally end its snow drought.lowest temps im seeing on east coast is 4.

many of the best snow events in hull and east yorkshire were provided by a bitter north wind bring heavy and frequent snow showers down the east coast.that type of weather never seems to happen nowadays.mores the pity.

well i was hoping for a surprise snowfall today, maybe build a snowman for my grandson.after it stopped snowing and before it melted,i scraped enough snow together for a snowmans big toe,i only had just enough for a toe by using ice from my freezer.really is bleak times for any snowfall in low lying areas of the uk
