  1. Like you, we've just had the odd rumble so far here in Sanderstead (which isn't that far from Shortlands) Hoping for more before days end!!
  2. 2 rumbles of thunder heard here in Sanderstead, Surrey. With some heavy rain, only lasted a few minutes thougfh and I think the shower/storm is still buliding out to the east now. Very chilly at 12.7C!!
  3. Moderate rain for much of the day so far in a fresh SW breeze. Cool too with a high of 17C
  4. Clear and sunny, albeit for some cirrus...
  5. Early clouds have now cleared to leave unbroken sunshine with warm temperatures of 17C in a light to moderate SW wind. I'm off to enjoy the sun while it lasts!!!! <_<
  6. Started off cloudy. By 6am distant rumbles of thunder could be heard, by 6.30am the storm broke with torrential rain, which is still coming down! Temperatures are still high at 17C in a light NE wind...
  7. Clear skies to start helping the temperature climb to a healthy 27C More and more cumulus have developed as the morning turned to afternoon. It is now rather cloudy and feeling humid, though values are at 49%.
  8. I agree that an Easterly airflow is the best if you live in the SE. The showers often merge to produce longer outbreaks of heavy snow lasting quite a few hours. Years ago when I was small I used to wake in the morning during the winter to find that snow had fallen overnight and left a thick blanket on the ground. Can't remember the last time that happened here?...
  9. A cloudy start to the day with sunny spells developing. Cooler than of late with a high of 21.3C in light winds. I don't expect to see much in the way of the rain which is forecast for tomorrow in this part of the world!
  10. A very pleasant day indeed, with a just a small build up of cloud around the middle of the day. Currently sunny and 24C with a gentle NNE wind. There are however very dark, threatening looking clouds over to the east, probably near Bromley way. If anyone is over that way, let me know!!
  11. Bright spells interupted by cloudy periods. No precipitation. Very cold in fresh NNE winds with a temperature of 5.3C and a windchill of -7C.
  12. Morning. Had a heavy sleety shower around 8 this morning accompanied by very gusty NW winds. Temperature is hovering around 2.5C so feeling bitter in the wind. Clouds are begining to build once again so could be more shower activity. I don't expect much in the way of snow here though!!
  13. Very windy with widespread gales. Recorded a gust of 38mph so far from the NW. Currently 12.3C in glorious sunshine with scattered cumulus clouds. I'm amazed just how mild it still is, especially in a strong NW airstream!
  14. Today was cloudy and breezy with rain at times. Very mild at 11.0C Currently 8.3C with light winds and showers. Overcast skies.
  15. 7.2C with a light SWly. Part cloudy conditions.
  16. Today was mainly grey and overcast with the odd burst sometimes heavy drizzle. There were odd brighter spells too. Milder though with a high of 6.6C and a light Nly wind.
  17. An overcast day with plenty of rain and drizzle around with the odd heavier burst thrown in. The wind was the main feature though, with a gust of 38mph(from the N). This compares to the stormy period at the start of January! Temperature climbed to 6.3C, but obvioulsy feeling colder in all the wind and rain. Not nice at all really!
  18. Hard frost first thing. Thermometer has now climbed to 1.3C in a freshening NNE wind blowing at 8mph. Clear to start but patchy cloud has now moved in, especially to the SE.
