the weather in Worthing is about as exciting as the town itself
-
according to radar the squall line has broken between the channel and the M25. was looking forward to it!

quite calm now and the rain has stopped.
Calm before the storm?
-
The squall hasn't even gone past Salisbury yet. We're going to be waiting for a while I think

quite mild, some spots of rain on my way to college but looks like ive got myself here without being caught out which is a plus

A cold high is second most favourite on my winter weather list. Crisp frosty mornings where the frost stays in the shade all day and frozen lakes. Lovely jubbly, through in a hoar frost and its on par with snow
yep one of my favourites too. Not a fan of this grey murky dampness we seem to be getting a lot of at the moment

Snowing! Settling on roofs and cars but not much else
-
looks like a damp warm christmas this year, again, more like autumn than winter. 27th we might have some sleet
Merry christmas everyone!

Does anyone remember the snow event of Feb 2nd 2009. This is what first got me interested in the weather, but in the run up to that, i didn't actually look at charts etc so don't actually have a clue what happened.. I was wondering if anyone here knows the synoptic low down of what occurred, or can point me in the direction of a thread that will show me this. Many thanks.
yep! It was my mums birthday - and she hates snow
I had no idea about what happened chartwise either, just remember having the day off school!

It's a yucky, grey and wet morning here and feeling almost tropical at 6C, with a light SW'ly wind.
yep same here, didn't need to wear my favourite hat this morning

Snow is snow..
that is true. Just a bit annoying as it looks nice and i'd wish it would settle but we basically have cold rain

That’s quite impressive the Met Office expected nothing but rain and sleet below 100m. So once more they’re wrong again after the constant washout they had for me yesterday.
Turning a bit sleety here oooooo!
its barely snow. as soon as it hits a surface it looks like rain

Precipitation is now snow in Worthing, still not settling.
I have a good view of the downs from my college but the cloud is too low to see them

Sleet in worthing, and I should know, I was standing in it for 20 minutes waiting for the bus! Bbc forecasts snow later but not a chance in hell that will set
-
BBC has got me down for a sleetfest between 9am and 2pm at 2c. Hopefully it will become snow rather than sleet?
-
Just been on my bike to pick up something and I got caught in a heavy downpour. Very windy too. Not a sign of a snowflake even though the rain was very cold
