    Just back from a walk in my local park: snow lovers dream criteria: blowing snow - check white out conditions - check freezing temperatures- that leave any bit of you, exposed, very red - check I'm running out of superlatives to describe it, this is up there with 2010-little did i think i would see anything like that again. I guess if i was guaranteed this ever year i would not appreciate it as much

    Yes. It would be fantastic to go out with a bang... Whatever happens from now on we will remember this period of weather for a long time to come.

    Hirlam seems to be fairly accurate from what i've heard. Please let this shift more east!

    The shower broke up.. That seems to be it for today. It will be interesting to see how low the temperature gets here overnight.

    Thanks. I just need one more day- even a few hours of heavy snow will do. Then i can handle it geting milder over the weekend

    So is that it for snow in our region now. It seems Thursday and Friday's potential have been downgraded.

    Is Surrey part of this effect? The snow has got a bit lighter- but it's still fairly heavy, just not quite the whiteout conditions of earlier

    ok. fair enough. there is about 5 cm here. how much longer do you think this will last?

    At this rate i might be stuck down here, or have to get alternative transport home. Am i right in thinking the Met Office did not forecast this?

    Sorry. I am in Surrey at the moment. I live near Cricklewood so it's more than likely the same in Cricklewood as it is in Hendon.

    same here. there must be nearly 2 inches in 25 minutes. visibility is very low right now.
