  1. Now thats interesting. Im not sure if you are on about the same bit but look at this sat here http://www.meteox.nl/h.aspx?r=&jaar=-3&soort=satradar

And see the lighter (whiter) cloud in the north East of the sea, North East running S.W. Was that the bit you were on about? Looks interesting...

Edit: Actually looks like it is more likely to hit central southern areas, that must be the feature they have been mentioning as possible light snow overnight in central areas.

i love that radar.... there's loads more on the way

  2. Just about as local as you can get, this 'event'. Do hope that those progged areas for later actually get something half decent. Anyone know where Trossley Country Park is? Dartford way? What's the forecast there from this evening thru sat, anyone know, haven't time to look?

yeah used to live next to it, come off at wrotham hill m20 take the road a227 i think towards gravesend, turn into vigo village about 5 mins drive from motorway exit. enter thru there

  3. Hi Everyone

Hope you don't mind me asking, but can anyone recommend a place to take the kids today in kent for sledging? Want to try and make the most of it!! Was thinking of heading for Maidstone!!? Thankyou in advance!!

    Fiona

don't go as far as that...try trosley country park it's at the top of wrotham hill (entrance via vigo village on the road from wrotham to gravesend before meopham) and you can sledge from top to bottom of the downs spent my 80's snow days there.

    m20 turn off

  4. :(

Great post :) A temperature of 1c doesn't mean no snow as many seem to be worried about - it snowed here yesterday from first light until around midnight and is still going in snow grain bursts now! Even if we don't have much else from this particular spell we just need to remember it's only the first half of January with the traditionally snowy February still to come

    :(

  5. meteogroups Europe radar shows snow deteriorating rather than growing whilst crossing the north sea http://www.meteogroup.co.uk/uk/home/weather/radar/europe.html

Why is that? it just seems to 'vanish'

unless it's what's behind it heading towards brussels at the moment which is what we need to keep our eyes on? if it keeps it's current path and keeps growing we will be hit :whistling:

i just have a good feeling about today... all to play 4

  6. You're absolutely right, it is exactly like a rollercoaster....... and I HATE rollercoasters!!

Never mind, I took my 6 year old son out for a walk this afternoon in the heaviest snow he's ever seen and his face was an absolute picture, so if I don't get any more I'll still be happy! (Although of course I'm secretly hoping for lots more tonigt) :)

Me 2!! we took our two boys 6 and 4 and our mad labrador out sledging (not the dog she just sort of ate snow and tried to knock everyone over) lol :)

Great fun and kids now snow hooked too so all good, snow man tomorrow!! :D

  7. I have and i do animate it and i have snow falling from the sky and i know there is more out in the channel and i know that i am in line for it just posing the question because there seems to be a bit of doom and gloom going on.

Been watching radar for few years now. I subscribe to full netweather package and can say it is very good gives me loads of info on the weather well worth the price.

i know subscribe too and watched the threads for about 6 years now just tend to lurk, was just getting behind u on the doom and gloom front but thanks 4 putting me in my place
