  2. might of spoke to soon Met office are giving us light snow early hours Also looking at the satalite north wales could also cop a bit in the early hours
  3. I remember it a lot deeper than it is now with carp and rudd swimming around. Knew where the kingfishers nested and the boggy area as you walked up on the left were loads of frogs and newts. Used to walk there from the top of Rhiwbina.

  5. UK long range weather forecast Tuesday 16 Feb - Thursday 25 Feb This period begins with temperatures much milder than as of late, with temperatures returning to around average/ slightly about average for most and with some mild spells being seen in the south and west. The UK looks to be split broadly east and west in terms of the general weather types with the west being wet with strong winds at times, and the east being drier and finer. Any snowfall also then most likely becomes restricted to the Scottish mountains. From the weekend of the 20th, there are signs of more widespread settled conditions becoming established - which would correspond with temperatures falling back to below average, and with increased incidence of overnight frost and fog. Updated: 16:00 (UTC) on Thu 11 Feb 2021 Thursday 25 Feb - Thursday 11 Mar Into late February there is a signal for higher than average pressure to expand westwards leading to an increased chance of snow showers redeveloping in the east, for conditions in the north to become generally quite settled and for unsettled weather in the south, with disruptive snow possible. A similar picture continues into March, though milder conditions in the west look more likely to spread northwards. Updated: 16:00 (UTC) on Thu 11 Feb 2021 Its not winter over for the met office yet
  6. understood that, but how come there is such a big difference in the models. They havent got a clue by the sounds of it. Its been like this since start of January. To me the forecast recently are literally done by looking out of the window. Both the BBC and Met office have chopped and changed their forecasts by the hour
  7. Latest from Fergie. Make of this not a clue ricky. A hero-to-zero story for forecasters with *yet another* fiddly local weekend f'cast (& even beyond isn't yet wholly convincing). Re Sat, wide range of possibilities is obvious from models; frm German ICON (a decent model always perused in eg UKMO deliberations) to...zilch
  8. They have got a warning out for the valleys etc. Wales Blaenau Gwent Caerphilly Carmarthenshire Ceredigion Conwy Denbighshire Flintshire Gwynedd Merthyr Tydfil Monmouthshire Neath Port Talbot Powys Rhondda Cynon Taf Swansea Torfaen Wrexham
  9. That's as far east as Swansea This one covers the south east for Saturday nothing for here Thursday night Issued: 11:12 (UTC) on Wed 10 Feb 2021 A band of snow is likely to arrive into Northern Ireland during the early hours of Saturday, then move east into parts of England, Wales and Scotland through the day. Not all areas will have snow, but where it does fall 1-4 cm are possible widely, with 5-10 cm, perhaps up to 15 cm over high ground. In addition to snow, some freezing rain may also fall in places, leading to very slippery conditions. Across Northern Ireland, snow is likely to turn to rain during the afternoon.
  10. In support latest met update UK long range weather forecast Sunday 14 Feb - Tuesday 23 Feb It will remain cold or very cold with strong winds on Sunday but potentially turning milder over western areas. Outbreaks of rain and snow, potentially heavy for some southwestern areas are possible, whilst staying mostly dry and bright in central and southeastern areas. Further into this period, snow and wintry hazards are likely to continue which could affect mainly northern areas and eastern areas, especially over higher ground but not confined to. Although confidence weakens later in the period, the best of any sunshine looks to be in eastern and northeastern areas, with unsettled conditions mainly towards the west. Strong winds are likely throughout with the risk of coastal gales and temperatures overall remaining cold, with mild interludes in the west. Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Wed 10 Feb 2021 Tuesday 23 Feb - Tuesday 9 Mar After a potential spell of milder and wetter conditions for most likely western parts, probably a return to colder and drier conditions overall. Whilst overall conditions are likely to remain cold, there is a continued chance for unsettled, milder interludes arriving from the west or southwest. These may produce a risk of disruptive snowfall during transition periods. Eastern areas are also likely to see some further snow showers, with the best of any dry bright and sunny weather in the north and northwest. Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Wed 10 Feb 2021
