I wonder if the estuary creates a pocket of warm area above us in braunton and barnstaple. The radars did show earlier a clear patch here- the only one in Devon! Think it is forecast to fill in but I'm no expert.

Feels like it's closing in around us a bit more now in braunton. The burrows are beginning to disappear from view.

I'm in braunton - north devon. Been very fine stuff off and on here all day. Nothing settled so far. Feels like it could be picking up but not sure.

Started to snow again in north devon. Flakes a little bigger and more frequent than this morning but still quite fine.

I think Dartmoor National Parks have asked everyone to stay well away from the moor. Sounds harsh but you can’t put yourself at risk for them.

Thanks mate - nothing at the mo. Any idea why the bbc might be predicting rain / sleet for tonight? I was under the impression any precipitation would fall as snow with temps this low. Still learning about all this !

Forecast for the whole of Devon to be covered in snow later apart from a tiny patch above barnstaple and braunton. Anyone know what's going on there?

Very fine snow just started to fall in my corner of north devon. More falling elsewhere in north devon e.g. 5 mins down the road!

Quite a lot has fallen along the north devon coast. Still falling. School closures up here. Ilfracombe on the Bristol channel coast hit hard.

Just reading the BBC news article where they quote their own forecasters as saying any precipitation will turn to snow. Not sure how that adds up with the rain they are giving for Thursday night? Light dusting here in North Devon this am. Looks very nice over on the sand dunes.

Is it the done thing to ask for snow predictions? I'm trying to work out if North Devon might see any at any point.

Hi - could anyone answer a quick question? In the model thread, when people talk about snow in 'the south of England', does that generally include the sw or is it not that straightforward? I'm in north devon and want to know if i can join in the excitement! Cheers if you can help.
