5 minutes of light flakes last night. Still here as so cold. Was hoping for something a bit more, guess it still looks very pretty.

8 deg and snowing in Seghill

Well, another great snowday here. Piled it down last night, nice fresh top up. Took the little one sledging at dinner time a good 4" or so in places. We got back at 2pm, just as it started snowing again. Lasted until about 4pm, just light, but lying due to the existing and freezing temp. Can't see this thawing until mid next week with the predicted temps.

Been a fantastic day, out sledging with the little one. And as we speak, once again it's absolutely hoofing down!

Just goes to show...the most technically advanced and scientific monitoring method is to look out of the window and use your eyes.

Had some reasonably decent showers since about 5pm here, quite surprising. Nothing major, but roads are white. Calmed down now but hope was see more.

At last. Caught the first shower at 4.30am, high winds and blizzard exactly the same as the beast from the East we all witnessed. Done it once more since, now off for an hours zzzz. Really hope this keeps up today

We are getting the fine 'polystyrene' looking stuff too, and even though it was absolutely soaked marshland last night, the wind has dried the surfaces a bit so it's staying put. The biting temperature is helping. Having said all that, still disappointed with all of the previously predicted mad snow event. This one just doesn't seem to want to get going.
