  1. Thank goodness for the European Regional Development fund!!! Without their funding I would not be sat here feeling this comfy after looking at rainfall totals over the coming 36 hrs (Esp. after seeing West Germany/NE France recently!!!) I feel sorry for all points downstream of Us as we just ship our excesses straight down to them!!! I'd expect some new places flooding if it does rain so hard, for so long, before the event is over?
  2. WYorksWeather I'm happy to wait!!! In some ways twilight/early night will let us see the lightning even from way out west? As it is I'm still hoping for a nice, BIG, storm later.....we'll just have to wait & see how the current storms destabilise the atmosphere around them i guess?
  3. Well I'm hoping things pan out as forecast as we seem pretty will located to get a good show! The added 'forced ascent', up the western slopes of the Southern Pennines should help things along eh?
  4. Well, if the forecasts are to be believed we could have quite a fun early evening here on the Lancs/Yorks borderlands....a nice Sunday lunch the wine & watch the storms approaching....
  5. Turned My hand to painting (Johhny Nice Painter-esque?).....just about sums it up around these parts....I call it "April Showers"...
  6. Azazel I guess I picked the wrong month to go bare legged in My Kilts......a tad raw & windy around me trossachs I can tell You!!! I've normally had a least 1 hammock day by now, sometimes in March, but not a bloody chance this Year so far! Luckily I found a 'accidental bar stool' for my 'accidental Bar' so I can pop out and make use of the sunny ten mins we get allotted from time to time!!!
  7. My forecast has cloud all day & a high just scraping 10c.....currently mid-teens & broken cloud/part sunny....maybe the fields will begin to dry out eh?
  8. If the lack of Saharan dust over the Hurricane season is a result of the impacts of the lowering of Ship Sulphur Emissions would we not expect it to continue this year and, in fact, be more 'settled' in the new role? If the dust isn't heading for the Caribbean then is it bound due North for Western Europe? Saw some piccies of N. Italy snowfall with two thick layers of Saharan dust embedded within it from the Easter weekend Plume they saw there? Obviously air from the Sahara wont just be carrying 'dust'..... I'm certainly keeping my eyes peeled for 'African Plumes' this Summer!! (eeeh, they used to be 'Spanish Plumes' when I were a lad!)
  9. Well, both the short range models I check have us with full cloud all day & I'm sat out in 'milky sunshine' that still has a bit of strength to it.......any excuse to sit out & stretch the eye balls is welcome this time of Year!!!

  11. Methuselah Well we had Ducks walking on the Canal at the end of November so that was Winter 'binned then! (according to the old sayings)....."Ice in November to carry a Duck....the rest of the winter will be mild & muck...." I'm now waiting for my tree lore to see how Summer goes.....Öak before Ash....in for a splash.....Ash before Oak....in for a soak.... (Ahd 'YES' take with a large pinch of salt!!!)
  12. ukpaul I have our main shop 2Moz & it's at the Halifax Asda.....setting off real early & hope to be back B4 it's really settling (post mid-Day?) If I get away with that then it's just introducing our new Dog to heavy snow falling.....He's loved the bits we've had so a good dumping over mytholmroyd would be welcome!!!
