  1. Few pics from this mornings drive. Wickwar sunrise, Castle Coombe and Hawkesbury Upton.
  2. I’ll be home in an hour TomW (been on a 50 mile round trip taking pictures this morning) and I’ll see where mine ended up but I think you would have beat me. I was at -9.2c when I left home at 7.30am.
  3. Thanks Zephyr I’m in Yate everyday tbh mum and dad still live there and it’s home to my official weather station (-7.2c min last night) but yes the Frampton chippy is second to none I think I use to play snooker in the miners in my misspent youth
  4. -8.7c here now down the road Zephyr easily my coldest night of the winter and for a few winters I believe. Will check the record books later. Can we squeeze another 1/2 degree more? Certainly possible.
  5. Just hit -6.1c here too TomW though by now you are probably lower still. My previous coldest this winter a few nights ago at -6.1c so odds on to go lower now for sure
  6. -5.1c now TomW. Let’s see who gets lowest think you may just shade it being more rural than I am.
  7. -3.7c at the moment dropped rapidly past hour, what does yours read TomW ?
  8. Nice one Zephyr. I’ve walked my dogs round there hundreds of times. Parents still live right next to it.
  9. yep great day noggin, I must be only down the road to you, have you seen the giant snowballs in the field by the Coalpitheath church ? ️
  10. I’m going for a low of -6.5c tonight Andy, as long as it stays clear obviously for most of the night. A good snow cover here still and temps max of 2.9c briefly this afternoon.
  11. 3rd deepest single snow event in my records sledging with granddaughters Used my portable snow shovel (Halfords) in genuinely deep snow awaiting repeat performance before winters out
  12. Thanks Manpantz yes I have brought the gauge in to thaw as we now have a lull in the snow but it’s so full and covered I thought I may have to revert to ratios. What a day.
  13. Hey guys n gals quick question. So my snow depth is 7.25” so far can anyone tell me what the water equivalent would be today? My rain gauge is manual and is swamped so any help of approx amount for my records in mm appreciated.
  14. Just seen our notorious grumpy neighbour in the street and even he is smiling snow brings out the inner child in us all. Won’t be on here much today as I’m taking my granddaughters out sledging and make the most of it. Have a great day everyone and be safe ️
  15. I’ve had barely any sleep but wow just wow dreams do come true and still snowing
  16. Absolutely. Enjoying so much I’ve not seen a single forecast for hours. Did notice my apple weather app switch from snow ending early hours to now dying out late tomorrow afternoon. Is that the expectation for here?
  17. Adrenaline for me I’m loving it. Family all fast asleep but I’m at the window. Street lights off at 12 midnight but it doesn’t matter as it’s so light out with all the snow. Loving life at mo mate.
  18. Any chance you can get out tomorrow and try to find some snow Mapantz? Close to you. I often do if it doesn’t happen here. Many a time it’s sleet where I live but snowing up at the cross hands (A46) near M4 junction 18 so I take the grandkids and the sledges up there
  19. Ooh nice piece of kit that’s my aim in the future to get one of those, Birthday in 4 weeks time but I’m getting a Stevenson screen instead not a pro one of course but one from ‘Metcheck’ had one before and it lasted years.
  20. Huge difference between us TomW I’m in Frampton Cotterell and it’s -2.7c here at the moment. Guess you are in a more rural location though ?
  21. Crackerjack still on the floor receiving mouth to mouth. Come on Zephyr I’m stressed enough with this event dont do that to me again
