Well after my weather station trauma sorted itself out its back to winter now. Sure alot of folk will be venturing back in with the slightest hint of winter weather (yes I am exhibit A). Funny how this upcoming cold spell almost mirrors last december's one in terms of date! FWIW i can't see much snow for this region in the next week but it will be good to have some fresh arctic air in!!!
I was thinking exactly the same. I remember around this time having to take my sister's fiancé back up to his barracks around Salisbury. Was glorious white with thick frost and ice and the temperature plummeted to -9 when we were driving across Salisbury plain.

Well you know what they say... If you don't walk them at least twice a day they can get very destructive.

I'm not sure of the weather today as I had my operation .
It is however bucketing down outside my hospital window. It's kinda comforting.
I'm groggy so haven't read posts today but really hope you are all well xx
Hope that you're recovering as well as possible! I love the sound of the rain for relaxation... x

Starting to look increasingly cloudy out there... nervous about putting the laundry out on the line...
-
Humid and gloomy... sums it up pretty well...
-
Very loud thunder and quite frequent lightning now! My sister's bulldog puppy is snoring away... the others are barking like crazy...

Can hear quite loud thunder and occasional flashes... the dogs are going mad.
-
Just starting to hear faint rumbling in the distance... will this go the distance...

Heavily heavily raining! I'm enjoying the sound of it as I work on some scores, with my sister's baby Bully snoring next to me. He's finally got his cone off his neck and his stitches are healing nicely.
Hope everyone is having a good day!

Well, more heavy rain with flashes and bangs . Lights ard on in the house , apart from the temperature it's like November here . Still it's an exc8ting weather day in my opinion and I can briefly forget that Monday is creeping up on me :-).
I'm right with you, that would drive me mad!

Hiya, we thought she was improving, but the heat has caused a skin infection, so a trip to the vet was needed yesterday as she has been scratching so bad she’s now bleeding on her chest. Hopefully she will begin to improve once the meds kick in. Thanks for asking.
Poor thing, hope she feels better soon.

Still feeling humid in the house. But there is at least some breeze around this afternoon.

Yes and we are so careful with them when it gets hot, they have cold floor tiles, cooling blanket, ice cubes in drinking water and fans to cool them down, but one was really not good this morning. She has been resting and is now returning to normal, TG.
That's really good to hear, they really suffer in the heat. So glad to hear that she is on the mend.

Morning All, a warm night with the overnight low of 17.6°C at: 01:17, currently 20.3°C with the RH92 %, Humidex 27.1°C, and a 4mph light air movement from the ENE. Having just doubled the monthly rainfall with what looked better on radar than in delivery with a mere 0.4mm of rainfall. Ah well, better than nowt!
From Above
On the radar a few sparky areas this morning
On Golden sands an interesting sky out over the migrant sea conditions
Right, now back to taking care of my Frenchie who has heatstroke
Oh my goodness, I hope they recover quickly. My sister had a British bully puppy who is recovering from emergency surgery and the heat definitely isn't helping

23.8C hee humidity now up to 70% .
Been a lovely day despite heat and have managed to do stuff as well .
There is a neighbour two doors down cutting a tree down because there's a wasp nest in it . I'm really worried about him as it really dangerous doing that he could get very badly hurt. I've closed the windows as I'm concerned about wasps going everywhere.
Rather them than me! Hope everything went ok, you're absolutely right that is an incredibly dangerous thing to do...

Morning All, so, are we on for Dirty Gertie today or not, after so many promises, time will tell?
The overnight low of 15.4°C at: 06:36, currently 23.6°C and RH79 %, Humidex 30.9°C with light air movement of 2mph from the ESE. Early morning run to the big "T" see's me stacked in readiness with bottled water, ice-creams oh and of course some Scrumpy Jack.
From Above
On Golden sands, a migrant sea again today and clearer than of recent with the Purbecks back in view
Looking to our south this morning, lots of energy exploding over North Spain and into southern Biscay early this morning
With a fair amount of electrical activity to go with that.
A quick wander around the various forecasts
With UKV for 01:00 forecasting Cornwall and Devon to see rain tonight
Icon going for this around 09:00 tomorrow morning
Arpege goes for this at 09:00 tomorrow
From Arome we see this for 05:00 tomorrow morning
Lots of different ideas there, with Devon and Cornwall looking potentially the place to be for some rainfall.
Beautiful picture! Hope the sea stays calmer for anyone out on the water, it must be horrendous to drown at sea.

Really hazy now and feeling humid. Not that it's really bothering me after spending a month out in Southern Italy. Hope everyone is enjoying the weather or managing to endure the weather...

There is literally no worse weather condition than high humidity, it is utterly vile, how folk crave it is beyond me.
Absolutely! It was easier when we had temperatures in the 40's with lower humidity!

Hoping for some cool weather next week after a stifling month spent in scorching southern Italy... hit 47° here a couple of weeks ago. Still in the mid 30s today and horrible humidity

Definitely feels cold outside and the wind seems to be coming from the NE... Still slightly sleeting outside... Any port in a storm...

Turned to snow here finally.
Enjoy it for those of us that can't because of a cruel twist of fate... And geographical location...
-
Still rain... Perhaps the odd wintry bit in the heavier bouts... But I would have to be using a lot of poetic licence...
-
Still sounds like rain here... I promised my boyfriend I wouldn't go out in the cold... So... Obviously I'm going out...
-
Can hear rain hitting everything outside... Think it's just going to be a washout...
