Just been down to the end of the garden to check temp…-5c current recording.

HOWEVER, I’ve just seen a UFO!! Disregard the green/blue reflection of the moon on the camera lens….watch the small orange object. It looked like a flame, like one of those lit lanterns but it moved much faster than a lantern would be ‘floating’. Any ideas? Could it be a meterorite??

It’s a spy balloon 🎈 from the south model thread trying to send waves so the system stays south 😆

it’s going off in the model chat 😂

Happens every time it’s a massive shame because regular members do posts with vast knowledge what get lost ! I think it should be a locked thread personally for selected members to post in who post daily ! And then have an open mod thread for everyone to post charts and talk north and south during weather events what gets everyone back on the forum  🙂

I'll not be popular but my Mrs could do with it not setting in 'bad' here until after 9pm Thurs......I keep trying to 'warn Her'....then she has 'Witchy Powers' over snow (it has appeared in past years?) so I'll apologise in advance if here, in W. Yorks, we need wait until around 9pm for it to set in proper like?.......

She's 'off' on Friday so it can do as it pleases from 9pm Thurs!!!!

    How dare you 😆

Normally the met office fails to predict snow ❄️ in Leeds but it’s got is for heavy snow Thursday Afternoon onwards hopefully this isn’t a bad sign 😆

Well looking at the forecast for the week ahead it doesn’t look like inland areas of our region will see any snowfall. Looking cold but dry very similar to the December cold spell. Hopefully get next week out the way then I’m ready to start looking for some spring warmth.

It’s hard to predict I’ve seen you post this before quite a few cold/snowy blasts !

Another day, same weather, temperatures a degree or so up on yesterday at 9c but again the main feature again is the wind, still W, and force 6-8, just not gusting quite as strong as yesterday, and broken cloud, mainly sunny.

I know I have mentioned this before but another change in the weather over the last 50+ years seems to be an increase in windy days, not the days when we have an depression with wind and rain, but basically fine days where the wind just blows all day. We had the same thing in the summer with temperatures in the high 20s and it felt like someone had left the gates to Hell open. I would be interested if there is any correlation between rising UK temperatures and increased average wind speeds.

Interesting post with my work been outside on a ladder you certainly get more windy days than ten years ago!
