  1. yesterday was last day with 50% or more cover, still lots of ice left but in clumps. First complete cover 17th December.
  2. Was expecting worse today, still lots of ice about but wind and rain minor by comparison. Currently 5.3 and very grey but feels a lot colder. Not much in the way of white stuff around Glasgow today, been both sides of the river. Got this from the dark side for those that don't like to venture there... interesting read. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8462890.stm
  3. I see the GFS pub run sticking to it's GFS guns very similar to the 12Z so far. Interesting comment from Nick F on the MOD page 15.
  4. I think the 12Z and 00Z have been the most consistent of the models over the last month or so. Our street is now a death trap, several inches of ice and water, can hardly walk amongst the ruts etc, any way we need a clean canvas for the next cold spell.
  5. Night all, hope to catch up in new thread tomorrow evening.
  6. Thanx LS informative as ever, just need to get this weekend out the way and see what happens. I would say that the way the models are flip flopping at he moment, the outcome will be completely differnet hic!!! different tomorrow, but Mr Fish does seem confident of the cold returning, and GP seems to think another blast by end of Jan as well.
  7. Even with what looks to be improving synoptics for the coming week, MODT seems to be handbags at dawn. Any views from our resident forecaster LS?
  8. Snowed most of today gave an extra inch or so. Snow cover since December 17th and still 4 inches albeit mostly ice remains.
  9. Yep you can here the salivating down south from here  Not that I know too much but some serious mild V cold maybe about to encroch upon us!
  10. Thanx Paul, I know you have made a lot of Scots very happy.
  11. Temps on the rise 1.5 from 0.4 2 hours ago and lots of dripping going off
  12. Still snowing in places, many with plenty of lying snow still and not exactly going to be blow torch warm either. Ho Hum it's been fun catching up with all reports and banter and hope this thread reopens again shortly (under another disguise maybe???) I guess the naughty step is going to be kept very warm shortly when we have to venture to the dark side Shuggee, Ross B etc any objections from mods to starting a Scottish General Weather Thread? Just say the word and we will be there. Might give weekend a miss then, I enjoy driving over the Dava road
  13. More like entering your garden from your bedroom window. Zzzzz time, night all,
  14. Now now don't be greedy, share around. Need cheering up with the pool get gubbed again!!!
  15. 9 for me and counting. Must admit as a Saffer wouldn't want to live anywhere else. That 1lb really makes a difference.
  16. Never mind having to hand, I'd have a few before
  17. Few bare patches starting to appear but in the main a good 3" at least, and very compacted. Takes my 14 stone frame without leaving a foot mark
  18. BBC Scotland and STV been forcasting snow overnight all week, seen about 4 flakes!!!
  19. Metoffice new style radar looking good for maybe a light dusting from midnight. 1.2 here with very fine drizzle.
  20. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/ta/ta_forecast_warnings.html What Snow?????? Are they not telling us something again?
  21. NL Are you anywhere near the Dava road? We are planning on driving to in-laws at the weekend and want to know what the road is like, or do I go up to SNeckie then via Nairn to Forres? Happy Birthday Pete.
  22. That would be the icing on the cake, and GP been pretty much spot on since early November. 1.9 here and a biting wind. Still plenty of slush and ice about so a covering to hide the muck would be a nice thing.
  23. Temps dropping away, rain on rain off... sleet on, sleet off, might give up for the night.
