That was the display where I was finally able to convince my daughter of their existence, we stood at the front door and they were white, bright and almost overhead, didn't need an elevated position to see them, fantastic.

Been watching this for a little while, from my west, it's now right in front of me, can't believe I've not seen any lightning from it, some decent rumbles, must be lashing down to my NE the hills have disappeared. I'll shut me kisser, huge flash just seen.

Shower and gone dark here, now heavy rain. Radio indicated 2 possible sferics that sounded close by, but no lightning nor thunder heard. Radio just picked up strikes SW Stoke.

Earlier part of the day had showers on and off. It's been dry for the bulk of it but overcast. Both Manchester and Liverpool airports show some interest for something thundery tomorrow. Is it next week school's break for summer? Can't be far off now.

Brilliant stuff, loads of lightning, now have hail stones bouncing down with some force, good juicy pea size and pink lightning, love it.

Constant rolls of thunder and some lightning, wow crack of thunder just now, rain has started.

It's all firing up just south of you, approaching via Alsager and Biddulph.

An absolutely glorious morning, pleasant and manageable 20° to 21°. Flowers are loving this mix of sun and rain, my pots are looking full and healthy. Cloud is building up a bit now. An interesting outlook from Man airport for later.

Did notice there was 2 very close strikes to the airport runway, one looked to have been extremely close to a building, zoomed in on it, wonder if there's a connection,

Where's this Milan to Manchester flight going? Thought it would have turned by now, storm passed over airport a few mins ago.

Seeing lightning now, two bright white bolts across the sky, superb. Heavy showers on and off.

Yes, 3 loud rumbles, heavy rain, didn't spot the lightning though.

There was activity just south of you this morning, it was early though, around 5.45am. A few strikes near Biddulph and west of Leek. Had a heavy but brief convective shower from it as it passed over Macc.

My radio is going bonkers, this has got to be highly entertaining for some of you at the moment, pleased for you, if storms are your thing.

Got my eye on Shropshire developments too, firing up towards Stoke now. This was a view from Wem, Shropshire a little while ago.

Rain eased off here, but it's muggy and sticky, it may be a tad cooler but it feels a little oppressive. @severe snowstorm looks like that Welsh cell is igniting.

Yep, I hope everyone with outdoor activities doesn't get too disrupted this pm. All kinds of clouds at different levels currently, from acas to towers and smooth lenticular types above the hills, constant feed of low level instability from the south, in the pic. @Scuba steve loud rumble early this morning from a strike out Bollington way, nice wake up call for your daughter.

The air/wind is feeling really warm, all different cloud structures all at different levels, good indication of shear. Interesting developments to my south again.
