After a low of 4.9c it’s now 17c and feeling very warm in the sun. I just love autumn days like this.

Climate change: Will naming heatwaves save lives? - BBC News
Seems to be a sensible way forward, although by definition you would also want to do the same for cold weather
For me personally I think it’s a bit silly and pointless but that might be because i follow upcoming heatwaves with interest.
It might work better for older or vulnerable people who might take more notice but i still don’t think it would have the same impact with the general public as naming wind storms due to people enjoying hot weather more.

It rained briefly here today but it was such a small amount it didn’t even register on my weather station or any others in the area on weather underground.

GFS going for 42 on Tuesday

A beautiful sunny morning here with clear skies and a light wind with a current temp of 23.4c.
The met office has a max temp of 24c here for today but as my back garden is a concrete slabbed sun trap i feel it may get a bit warmer than forecast.

It looks like the Monday into Tuesday night “low” could be above 28c in London unless i am reading these wrong.

I love hot weather but 40c and above is a bit much and would prefer temps of around 28-32c.
I went to Las Vegas a few years ago in June and they where having a heat wave with temps of 112f / 44c and it was like being in a oven, due to having mild asthma i found it hard to breathe at times as the air was so hot and dry.
On the day i went to the valley of fire the forecast was for temps of 111f but the tour guide who was driving said his car thermometer hit 117f/47c which was pretty uncomfortable as the air con wasn’t the best and started feeling sick from the heat.
I am looking forward to seeing if any records get broken but at the same time i think it could be pretty unbearable for some people.

Current bedroom temp 27.9c with 49% humidity. The the max yesterday was 29.3c but was around 27c when i went to bed, the low last night was 26.5c.
Luckily i am able to sleep fairly well with those temps.
The hallway is currently 24.8c so a bit more comfortable but still warm.

Currently 29C here in Eastbourne with partly cloudy/milky skies, perfect weather for relaxing in the garden.

A nice sunny morning today, as i am sitting here the sun is shining through the window and is starting to feel strong now.
After this rather uninteresting winter i am really looking forward to spring now.

I was surprised too at the extremes today -
-1.7C the min this morning but 11.8C at just after 13.00. The weather station is in quite a sheltered spot though, that does warm up when the sun's out.
My station is also fairly sheltered but as my garden is a a south facing sun trap it hit a high of 13.8C after a low of -0.7C, on the 12th it got even higher to 15.2c.
Unfortunately my station needs to be located close to a fence due to the garden layout so it could have affected the high reading.

Here is a webcam on the Eastbourne seafront.
There isn't much rain at the moment but it's starting to get windier.

I just heard some thunder in Eastbourne, checking the radar it looks like we could be in the firing line.

It looks like there are some showers heading towards the south coast from France, they don’t seem super big at the moment but might catch sunbathers by surprise.

It’s feeling really nice and warm in the shade here in Eastbourne, with only a few fair clouds around. Hopefully it stays like this all day today as i would like to see some records broken.
