Yeah my mate in Meopham got hammered today and they had snow for 3-4 days back in December.

I will say this though, the cold weather was better in December and January, because the air was drier.

Now it’s that horrible damp cold, which I can’t stand.

Yeah ,it was colder for us in December and January than now .

This damp wet misty drizzy followed by heavy burst of rain has finished me off today 😂 .Roll on summer 🌞⛱️

The current charts are suggesting it might be mild next week, but not 20c.. thats unrealistic at this range imho

No charts are going out to March just yet, only some extended Anomaly charts and at this range are highly uncertain.

There MIGHT be a cold spell, IF, we geta SSW that delivers... many dont, like in 2019, instead we had record breaking warmth in February.

Ahhh I see , thank you for taking the time to explain.

No thanks, 20C in February is wrong under all circumstances in my opinion.  However, sadly it’s going to become more of a regular occurrence  moving forward!  Temps to breach a 100f yet again this summer?

Hi , are the charts showing it could be 20°?

( Very inexperienced chart reader here lol)

Also are the charts showing march could be snow and cold as some have said here that it could be ??

    Thanks in advance

Not really it was a much weaker signal, these ones are steaper and colder, bring decent uppers much further south. Hopefully instead of diluting they sharpen up, and may be even turn northerly. Just needs the high to the west to move east a little.

So if I read this right and other charts posted I can wear my new Xmas coat soon ☺️ or do I have to wait till next year lol

What a final 💥 let’s hope we can gain as much excitement from the ecm ready to trickle @ 12z

Was brilliant wasnt it, although did make us late for a carol service at the church ,they weren't impressed 🤣🤣.(especially as we aren't regular goers)

Just need to finish the day with good signs for at least cold Xmas  and I will go to bed happy .

  6. As a cold Lover and  a total novice to reading charts ect but learning a lot as I read these post ,I have to hold my breath before looking at the thread throughout the day lol one minute I'm excited it's going to say cold and the next a bit flat when it shows mild but as you say that's the weather for you. I must say it's absolutely bitter out there tonight so making the most of the few days left of cold spell until the mild sweeps in .

Thank you all for such interesting post even if I can't understand them all ,I'm learning though 😃

Much better run this from the ICON and exactly what I was expecting to see as a further correction tonight.  T144:

Could contain: Plot, Chart, Outdoors, NatureCould contain: Plot, Chart, Art, Accessories, Face, Person, Head

Retains the low (marked black) to the south pretty much in full, result it pumps up the European high much less, and the cold doesn’t recede that much, before returning to all but the very south.

So the south east won't see a return to cold ?

  8. I don't understand the charts or the runs but follow this thread daily to try and learn.

This has been like reading a a gripping thriller that you can't put down. One minute it looks like I'm going to get my wish for a cold maybe snow Christmas, the next it's rain and slightly milder.

Who knew weather could have more twist and turns than a crime novel lol.

    Fingers crossed for cold weather
