  1. interesting sky in Congleton, clearly raining but not hitting the ground yet....feels muggy and close and just above 21C lets hope it kicks off a bit later
  2. same here in my part of Cheshire, an incredible storm in August 2020 and absolutely nothing since.
  3. hoping Cheshire gets its first storm in 2 years tomorrow.....
  4. Classic copy and paste job yet AGAIN. South Coast, Essex and Kent get the fun tonight for about the 8th or 9th time already this year.
  5. another disappointing weekend looms for our area.....almost 2 years now since a rumble of thunder up here, whereas some areas down south have had 7 or 8 storms this year already. I know its weather and we can't do anything about it but it is frustrating when every storm seems to copy and paste itself over the same areas every single time. I wonder what changed from the 90s where there were regular widespread outbreaks and plumes going across the whole country....
  6. we havnt had a rumble of thunder for nearly 2 years now so I feel your pain
  7. based on current models it looks very disappointing for any good storms this weekend, maybe the usual areas down south in kent and central south coast will once again get the storms but for the rest of us it looks like convective rain. enjoy the sunshine folks
  8. well not sure there is much to get excited about this weekend and even if there are storms of course it will be the South East yet again getting them. Of course. Literally a copy and paste everytime. Oh well.
  9. so...for the 32nd time in a row where we have had thunderstorms forecasted....we have had nothing. the wait goes on. 2 years nearly.
  10. Yes hence the term 'mainly' in the south west, I'm aware other areas in the south had storms to a lesser extent
  11. Well as is the case 110% of the time the South get all the good stuff and by the time it reaches its just a damp squib. I genuinely thought tonight may of been different. Silly me.
  12. Yea I agree. Oh well, maybe next time. Only 2 years nearly since last time we had thunder.
  13. We has 27 storm warnings last year (yes I counted) and we had ZERO storms. Already have 4 warnings this year, and zero storms. That's why I get frustrated because the forecasts up here are always ridiculously inaccurate.
  14. Well, that's that. Nothing at all like the widespread storms forecasted, mainly confined to the lower risk area in the south west. Maybe next time eh.
  15. They probably will, initiation wasn't expected up here til round about this time
  16. As predicted the first signs of the storms developing over CS are initiating and firing up, these will gradually intensify as they move northwards. Anywhere around the central M4 and M6 is looking good for next few hours
  17. Hmm perhaps. All the ingredients are in place, just needs one to start popping off but with this set up it's hard to predict especially with varying models
  18. Personally I think the French storms at moment are not the event we are anticipating. I think surface based violent storms will shoot up inland around CS/SE within next few hours and slowly track north, probably turning to rain only around midnight by the time it reaches the Birmingham area and northwards
  19. I wouldnt get excited about this weekend to be honest....most, if not all, of the forecasted storms will probably stay across the french side of the channel and potentially the northernmost edges might clip the Kent coast (where have we heard that before).....
  20. very frustrating that despite being in the warning area once again absolutely nothing whereas Lincoln and the South East hog all the storms...just like all last summer.....
  21. basically the same areas as all last summer and this month so far......*sigh*
  22. mate I live just up the road, we have a special ability to dodge every storm...nothing here at all for nearly 2 years
