    Hazy sunshine here with a little high cloud. Very humid. Although I did see some distant lightning over Crewe yesterday we had no rain or thunder here at all. Garden could use the soaking. In the warning area again today so perhaps a bit later.

    Right ok...possibly fireworks but all the same height and colour would be odd

    Possibly...although its very rural over that way, not many features other than fields and trees. Crewe is a bit further east of where it occurred.

    Hello. Can anybody explain this please? Me and my sister in law caught this flashing ball of light earlier. This was over towards Crewe and Nantwich way around 7pm during a distant thunderstorm. There were quite a few CGs from the storm. Just to add context there are no tall buildings over in that direction and the flashing lasted around 30 seconds. It looked brighter to the naked eye than what you see here...but what could it be? Have we caught ball lightning on camera?? VID-20230610-WA0022.mp4

    Managed to get the flashing ball of light on camera...looked brighter to the eye but very strange. Can anybody explain? Looking over towards Nantwich and Crewe. There isn't a building that height over that direction and as I say the flashing didn't last long. VID-20230610-WA0022.mp4

    Just saw a flashing white ball in the sky, very distant over towards Crewe...about 20 seconds before it disappeared. No idea what it was.

    Can see some distant CGs over towards the west up by Crewe, pitch black over that way. Unfortunately moving in the wrong direction for me but better than nothing.

    Seems we are going to miss out yet again despite being in the best warning area, just a tad too east. Nice cloudscapes though but too far away for any thunder or rain

    yes, I meant overhead. A distant rumble or two isnt really what I would call a storm. If we are splitting hairs then yes the last time we actually had a proper storm close enough to enjoy was in August 2020.

    latest models suggest nothing convective for at a least another month, even then it would be just the south that gets anything. Unless anything changes could be yet another very disappointing summer up here for storms, the last time we had thunder here was August 2020.

    Lincolnshire is pretty much the new storm capital of the UK, the amount of storms they have had there in the last 3 years is incredible

    Basically a copy and paste job for last few days....areas that got storms will get more, areas that didn't won't....radar looks exactly the same as yesterday and day before....

    once again despite being in the warning area absolutely no thunder today......I think thats probably about the 75th time in a row now we have had a warning for storms and had nothing. The fact they get it so wrong so many times up here is incredible. coming up to 3 years now since I last saw a lighting strike up here....the wait goes on.

    Yea you are correct. The last good storm we had was in August 2020 which i believe went down as a supercell.

    no rain or thunder at all today here...probably the only place in England that has happened it really is incredible the bad luck we have.

    we must be the only place in the north west midlands that has had no rain or thunder at all today...i know we always avoid the storms but today takes the mick
