Just started snowing here in Biggin Hill, Kent.....only slightly, but fairly big flakes.
-
Do we really want wet slushy snow?
I don't!!
I guess not...we need it to stop raining, freeze and then snow (not ideal for most though and not likely either lol)
-
Very heavy snow here DP now down to 0.7 and temp 1.0. I think were are in for a dumping!!!
Keep us posted...and send some down here please (I've got quite used to having 'sledging' as one of my hobbies)!

Hi all
We had a brief period at around 4.30pm of big snow flakes mixed in with the rain and an even more brief period of what seemed like pure snow; now however, we have rain, rain and more rain (although still not cleared all the lying snow, which is quite unusual is it not?)
Don't think we're going to see anything else tonight..hey ho, it was fun while it lasted.

Sorry, but talk about covering your back!!! I'll stick to the NW forecast.

Have you noticed how quiet Biggin Hill is ....... we have rain!

The last of the cloud is still to clear Kent. Its been slower than expected, which prevented a frost in the far southeast. No precipitation over land now though, its all over the Dover Straits.
Many thanks Paul!

I can't see any predictions for snow this morning in this area, however, after a sunny start the sky now looks full of it? Any ideas?

Still snowing heavily in Biggin Hill...must be 6/7cm's by now. Such a bonus after Monday's event; this is what winters should be like and then we'd be prepared - really enjoying it (but wish hubby was home).

Been snowing in Biggin Hill for about 40 minutes, fairly moderately - popped into Waitrose when it was sleety and came out to a covering Just hoping that OH can get home tonight as on Monday no one could get up the hill!
SEnding snow vibes to those who want them.

well.. temp is now 1c, dewpoint is now 0c.. and would you believe it the odd flake of snow
There is hope then! I was almost ready for Spring as I've had enough of the fog and slush, however if we could have one more big dump that would be fab!

The new fax chart for tomorrow indicates that those of us in the SE corner might well get our turn as the day goes on, right on well into late tomorrow evening and night. The front is just off the SE coast by midnight! There could be a very slow moving SE'ward band of ppn which increasingly turns to snow as the day goes along and crawls its way across us. There could lots of snow in places I think as this is so slow moving - and everywhere could be in the action I think later tomorrow .
I love this optimism

Id say your chances are higher than most simply due to your high ASL. But whether the precipation actually reaches that far south of central london still remains a mystery. If it does, then you should be quids in.
Thanks for your reply...I guess it's just wait and see and fingers crossed.

I'm so confused (doesn't take much)....at the moment we still have lying snow, fairly dence fog and dropping temps - some say snow for Biggin Hill and others say rain. Experts, what are the chances?

Friends almost completely stuck in Tatsfield (just outside Biggin Hill)...being towed, slowly by 4 x 4.. I love this weather, but it isnt great for some (mwhaaaaw)

Went VERY dark (and I don't mean night time dark lol) and now have snow coming down quite rapidly. It's settled within minutes and looks fab; is this it or just a shower?
Sending lots of snow vibes to everyone...enjoy!!!

Hi Snowbob
Not too bad at the moment; snow beginning to settle on cars, fences and on any remaining snowy areas but melting on contact with our patio. Wasn't expecting this, so a real bonus
