Yup 23c they forecast today and mostly sunny. It struggled to reach 21.6C in cloudy skies and a keen wind. This evening the rain has moved in.

What has amazed me this year is the we have only one dry spell of over 5 days. All year! You have to go back to early June and late May when we had over 5 days dry. We seem to get 2 maybe 3 days dry then showers or longer spells of rain. Continually. Can remember when you get a high sat over us for at least a week and be nice during the summer. I hope autumn bucks the trend this year.

13.8C and more rain! The Acer tree in the garden is looking quite red now. Leaves have been changing colour the last week. Its the 8th August! This really has been a awful summer.

Heard my first robin singing yesterday. Usually about the 7th August I hear them start for autumn and winter. Hello autumn, you are very early!

Just to back up what SunSean said, it looks delightful the next 14 days. Vile for this time of year.

Excellent day here today. Sunny to partly cloudy all day. Local weatherunderground station topped out at 21.2C, Met off station Credenhill said 19.1C. Got out on bike this evening felt pleasant, first time in bib shorts this year although quite a breeze from the south. Mason bees around the bee hotels were out in force and it was a frenzy of activity. Over a month late this year.

What a difference a day makes. 10.2 C yesterday and rain all afternoon. Today sunny spells , pleasant 3 hours gardening and sat outside with mother for an hour. First time since 30th March Credenhill has got over 16 C. 17.2 C currently. Feels warmer in the sun. No complaints today from me.

I know we like to moan about UK weather but just spare a thought for the birds at the moment. Usually the trees are in full leaf, insects and caterpillers are abundant. How some of them are surviving let alone trying to raise families in this wet and cold weather is beyond me.
I have just had 2 baby robins fledge in the garden on 27Th April! The first young birds of the year. On the 27th April! Very late here.
I have been putting down extra fat balls, sunflower hearts and half peanuts and they all seem to be waiting for me to feed them.
Please if you can put a bit more food down for them this spring as I think they are really struggling. Cheers!

I guess we'll have to wait and see for the stats to see if the daytime temps for April come in below par. Also, we have to remind ourselves, the month isn't over yet.
This is true, but have you seen the forecast for the rest of the month?

I think it all depends where you are in the UK this spring. Here we havent even reached 16C this April yet. By weatherunderground nearest station to me is averaging 8.8C for April so far. Yes its felt very cool for April . Looking back through the history the last April it only made it to 16C was 2001. I know we have a few days left but generally it gets above 16C here in April. So to me I would class that as below average.

Just gone through here in Hereford. Half a dozen claps of thunder with lightening and torrential hail though hail was small in size. First of the year.
