Seems like it's dropped there now too. Zero here now and still wet snow, only a slight covering over the downs this side! -

That's tropical lol. I'm in hassocks the other side of the downs and it's 1 degree here now and a pretty keen bite in the air the last hour or so. -

It's been trying to settle here just up the road in Hassocks for the last hour but still big wet flakes. But noticeably colder now so could be some hope for us nearer the south coast!! -

Currently light snow here in hassocks but just starting to get a bit heavier now,no coverage yet but bitterly cold! Good luck to all that are under the main band and to others in my locale around Brighton and mid Sussex! -

It's fair to say that we have had a fairly eventful day here in the South East and some pretty sharp boundaries between rain and snow. A complete bust for me 9 miles north of Brighton but just 25 miles away in beare Green it was 9cm deep! So I got my fix with my son who was buzzing about it! Well done to everyone who got a covering and commiserations to those who didn't! It's been great seeing everyone's posts and all the local differences around the area. And now temperatures are falling there could be a few places that could get a dusting or a top up if the band can maintain some intensity so fingers crossed for all, especially those who have had sod all today!! -

Have to agree with you on that one Paul, seen lots of scenarios unfold this way over the years down here in West Sussex! Kind of knew it would rain here this morning! And as you mentioned not so many storms here either....! -

However,I promised my son he'd see snow so the 9cm in beare Green just north of Horsham was lovely. Had a feeling this was going to pan out this way! -

Just pretty much plain old rain here in hassocks with the odd big flake or two, conditions too marginal here I think! -

I'm in hassocks just the other side of the downs and only expecting a dusting really. Perhaps woodingdean at higher elevation could see a covering your side of the downs. -

Evening all, hope everyone is well! Currently - 1 in hassocks,West Sussex. I think the Chiltern Hills and Surrey Hills could see a fairly decent amount and to a lesser extent perhaps the South downs West of ditchling beacon. So based on this I'm going to go for 10cm of snow at newlands corner in the Surrey Hills. -

Some pretty good hail here a short while ago, nothing massive but very heavy! It was a good hour or so ago and tracked up towards Crowborough and tunbridge wells,it's what's in the Thames estuary now. But a nice little line forming to the west of west Sussex now! -

That would be good for me here Zak,been a bit of a poor year for Sussex this year in terms of storms but got right underneath a half decent one at 3 in the morning on June 20th at beachy head near Eastbourne! -

Morning all, some pretty heavy rain now just north of Brighton. Looking like southern coastal counties could see some heavy showers today. I am right in the middle of Dan's slight for the south east corner so fingers crossed! -

It definitely looks like it's getting a bit more re organised Mitch, looks like it will produce some pretty nasty conditions for a while. -

It was pretty impressive here too sunnijim just north of Brighton earlier. Very strong straight line winds in the first line and then a second line developed not long after with some impressive wet downburst gusts. Wouldn't be surprised if we had an inch or so of rain too!
