  1. I think close to midnight, early hours there will be some precipitation across the region, maybe a light covering for some.
  2. Clutching at straws but the radar is showing some small developments at sea, hopefully these can continue developing before hitting land- and then it's fingers crossed it is white as no guarantee, there is quite a bit of sleet further north if the radar is to go by.
  3. The days start getting longer soon - does that mean a bigger chance of snow days lol.
  4. Maybe they could be a little window of opportunity PM tomorrow for a bit of snizzle but that window is very small and very frozen. Still think we shouldn't give it up yet, the cold is here to stay for a long time and I am convinced some disturbances will pop up through the next week.
  5. It's looking very cold and very dry for the foreseeable and beyond but whilst we have the very cold then anything is possible with, I am sure, the odd surprise snowfall springing up at the last minute.
  6. Well it has been pants up to now for my neck of the woods. Woke up to a few flakes on frozen ground this morning, seen plenty of rain and sleet since and in truth it feels kind of warmish out, certainly not as cold as expected. Maybe the next seven days brings the rewards but it seems like it is going to be cold rain and sleet to look forward to in any precipitation.
  7. You know that intense yellow sky, that is how it is here right now after 30 minutes of sleet. I think we may get a downpour soon and hopefully all white!!
  8. Let's keep our fingers crossed, I am sure we will see some snow before the week is out, I think it will be a lot of nowcasting but confident it will happen. Nice way to start the run to Christmas.
  9. Yes I am very similar, nice to feel a little chill on the face but so warm other than that. It has been so mild !!
  10. And funnily enough, your profile pic, the owl, last night with the window open the owls were really hooting in the wood behind me, such a lovely sound to nod off to.
  11. I just read the snow word being mentioned in the met office outlook for the North end of November.
  12. Anybody like me and just need the bedroom window open every night, even in the depth of winter ? Not because I am warm but because its so nice to feel the cold on my face as I am tucked under the quilt. Also lovely to hear the rain when nodding off or waking me up in the early hours. The only time I close it is when I get up on a morning or it stats closed if it is blowing a gale.
  13. Oh you have quashed my hopes with me being a coldie!! Yeah tomorrow is not looking great, been really pleasant today and the weekend looks pleasant too. All good for my regular visit to Redcar horse racing.
  14. Any thoughts on the upcoming winter anyone ? The trees here are absolutely stashed with berries, my old grandma would always tell me prepare for a long hard winter Old wives tale or not ?
  15. Anyone's thoughts for snow in early winter this year? The trees here are absolutely stashed with berries, my old grandma would always tell me that is a sign of a very cold winter ???
  16. I remember being under the red warning for storm arwen, think the warning was from 9pm. 10pm - windy, 11pm - windy - I was thinking like a lot on here, oh this has been exaggerated, early hours of the morning the storm ripped through like a train, really really frightening . Be careful what you wish for and I still think you are just at the start.
  17. Yeah I get the meaning about it but you can use different shades of yellow, amber and red - getting to crimson red for the peak etc. For me, it would just make more sense and more user friendly.
  18. You would think that whoever creates these charts would consider their colour scheme, since when has purple and pink brought more awareness/danger than red - would tie in with warning colours as well, maybe they should just adopt yellow, amber, red colours. But just a thought.
  19. PS - don't be putting yourselves at risk though if anybody does capture anything.
  20. Videos and pics would be good seeing as though I am in the north east where the trees arent even moving - maybe later
  21. I am sure you will get a good few hours of heavy snow John in Hexham. We light see a flake or two in amongst the deluge of rain haha.
  22. Yep the norm is resumed NES. It's been another poor winter, once Feb is out even though we may still see the threat of snow I am starting to want warmer weather. Still an interesting day tomorrow though, for me, the worst weather is winds, gales, rain and sleet !!
  23. So the beeb is giving me a white Christmas Eve, Christmas day and Boxing day - will it happen ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ts14
