Now light snow here in elloughton,just west of hull,now starting to cover parked cars

I believe it's not till after midnight that conditions will be there for snow to fall in most of east Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

Yesterday I recorded a high of 23c and a low overnight of 14c. I’m dubious about that high & seriously doubted the low as I experienced it as quite cool last night (closing the windows) & 14 doesn’t sound that low…however comparing to Staxton station again (high of 22.8c & low of 14.5c) it is comparable
.
Locally today we have mostly broken cloud cover, with temp reading at 18c at midday. Nothing to complaint about again
.
I don't think 23is anything special at this time of year, officially it is still late summer

Just from observations in my garden, there have been significantly low numbers of insects this year - bees are really low, I haven’t seen a single ladybird, even the dreaded harvest bugs were only here a few days and then gone. Finches had disease this year and I lost all of my greenfinch population
. All in all a poor year for wildlife in my garden (& believe me my garden is very wild!). The ants are around & flies, but nothing in any great abundance like previous years. Do you think it’s just been the heat/dryness??
Plenty of wasps and flies here and a few butterflies but less than usual, but a few different kinds of ladybirds

Hi according to hull daily mail hull has recorded it's highest temperature ever at 36 degrees today, expected to be beaten tomorrow
