Somewhere like Braemar (330m) could be buried by next Wednesday - probably a foot or so in the next 2 or 3 days then it normally does well in an unstable ENE flow for showers feeding right through the Dee valley...
Yep, looking interesting. Also worth remembering that some higher parts of Aberdeenshire already have 1m+ of lying snow!

Higher inland parts of Aberdeenshire are already buried so could be some serious depths if any of that comes off.

Working fine. Where was that taken, more importantly what height?
I set off from the top of the brindy hill road south of Premnay and headed west. If I'd carried on I would have eventually come out at the top of the Suie hill but it was pretty tough going! Not exactly sure where I was when I took the video but from looking at the OS somewhere between 370 and 400m at a guess.

Hopefully this'll work but gives an idea of the depth of fresh.

A reasonable covering of snow here too and still snowing - bit wet but more than I expected.

Sleet and snow hasn't really stopped since mid afternoon but only started lying properly a couple of hours ago - reasonable covering building now.

Occasional moderate snow showers coming through here too this morning - none have lasted more than about 5 minutes but enough to leave a covering. The ground is still frozen solid which obviously helps.

I was just going to idly post, yay a snow shower, then see @Snowandrocks has been out with a willing hound - best dog photos I seen in a long time. Give him blanket!
Fast asleep next to the stove now!

Awwww, he/she doesn't look the happiest there. Our dog walker was up Sui Hill somewhere and said it was deep, I fancy a decent walk tomorrow as we've been stuck in front of PCs for the last 3 days so I'll maybe see if I can persuade the wife to go as far as the top of one of the Correen Hills. She doesn't mind a snowy walk but isn't one for ploughing though deep stuff.
She loves the snow and spent most of the walk leaping through drifts like a loon but it was pretty grim at the point we gave up! Suie hill should be good I imagine.

You must be just below the snowline - just been up to the Clashindarroch Forest for a ski. Didn't last long, absolutely howling!
Blowing over the road with almost no visibility once above ~350m.

A friend at 300m asl near Tarland says the snow is piling up pretty quickly and blowing around in the gale.

Quite surprised to see reports of snow from near Aberdeen. Just sleety rain here at 150m on the North side of Bennachie. Wind getting up now but nothing crazy.

Snowing steadily on the North side of Bennachie in Aberdeenshire. Probably about an inch or so lying.

Only a dusting of fresh overnight but heavy snow showers blowing through now, lying readily.
