Which thread should a lost Surrey sheep be posting/being disappointed in?
I'm so confused.....
-
Definitely falling as sleet now in Surrey Heath
Edit: And now stopped....
-
You can choose whichever one you like, there's no rigid line, merely a vague idea of general area. If I were you, I'd stick around in here, we're a friendly lot not generally prone to hysterics if it all goes pear shaped. You may however be nominated as our official stealth monitor who can sneak in and out the other South thread, have a nose around and report back in here.
Yes.
I'll be a stealth agent for you guys.
Not them.
Oh what a giveaway....
-
I'm excited and I don't even really know which thread I should be in.....
What's the official cut-off between SE and Central Southern?

With the chance of frost and more on the horizon again, I thought I'd post my frosty images from the winter so far...

OK, before the 12z starts rolling out I want everybody in this region to join hands and wish your bestest wish for Saturday onwards - now close your eyes and imagine.....
let it snow... by markhortonphotography, on Flickr

South Farnborough showing -9.9C at midnight.
Blimey.
-
Falling snow nearly non-existent at the moment, quick jaunt outside shows depths of 7-8 cm. Not bad at all.
Wonder how much will remain in the morning?
-
Probably yes because everyone who has snow is currently at the window watching it fall not daft enough to waste the pleasure looking at posts by us sad snowless peeps.
I didn't come out of this looking good....
About 1cm laying here, but it's just cranked up a notch. Fair bit of a breeze too, may see some drifts!!
-
Is nearly everyone in this thread coastal?
-
Continues to snizzle here, white covering on everything about 2 or 3mm deep. No sign of it getting any heavier though.
-
Very, very light dusting here in GU16
-
Really love that first one 4wd, brilliant shot!!

Sorry. Southern England biased Media - Stop Moaning !!!!
How's that?
PS. Now snowing again. Powder stuff, the kind that's 'wrong' for the South East!
This bitterness towards the South is very very dull.
On the plus side, 9-inches in my part of Surrey, I have a home-working kit so no need to risk myself or any one else on the road!
No moaning here.

It is strange how it is all panning out.
I live within half a mile of The Solent and it starting raining heavily before 5 o'clock. By 5.30pm it was snowing heavily and hasn't stopped since. The trusty ruler is showing between 7 and 8 cms at the moment (about 3 inches in old money) which in normally fairly snowless South Hampshire at sea level is pretty rare!
L
Just been out to measure, and there's just shy of 4 inches laying, still snowing lightly, and I'm watching the large area of snow that's just cleared Portsmouth, wondering whether it'll hit us. Could be a February-rivalling covering by morning if it does!
-
Woke up today around 6A.M. from a really loud bang of thunder. I'm still not sure whether this was part of a dream or there really was a snow thunderstorm over here?
Snowing quite nicely over here in Egham at the moment, although seems to melt into this slushy stuff as it lands.
Mum lives in Englefield Green and she was woken by it too. She was equally confused.
As for here, car is now covered by just under an inch I'd say. Snow has slightly lessened, but still going.
-
Thick and settling snow now, is this likely to stay with us for a while?
-
Constant sleet here at the moment. Fingers crossed for later, but I'm not holding my breath.
-
Started snowing here as well in Buntingford, North East Herts.
Already a light dusting.
Radar says sleet, but it's turned to quite heavy snow here. Settling well too.
-
Proper thick stuff again now. We were definitely seeing signs of a melt setting in, and now we're seeing huge marshmallow size clumps coming down to replace it!!

Effectively I'm on the edge of this one and the Central Southern. That means either in with Dover or Penzance
It also means I'm probably just on the edge of the possible snow too. Seems to happen quite often here tbf
