Just caught the BBC forecast on my lunch break and they’ve surprisingly bullish about snow showers coming in from the east early next week
I wouldn't worry about what the beeb say as they've become rubbish since they dropped the met office, not sure why people still watch them for. I'm waiting for the met office 10 day trend video it should be uploaded anytime soon now

To them we in Wales don't exist as being in the country. I saw Jay's post earlier. If we post that snow will affect Wales they go crazy. Abit embarrassing really. How old are they. They need to go back to school or shall we post a big dummy in the mod thread when things go wrong. The mods would run a million miles.
If the charts don't show snow for them they dismiss them and call it a downgrade, the toy throwing and tantrums from them the last few days has been quite hilarious, you honestly wouldn't think that they are adults!

Hi gang, Newbie here ! I’ve been lurking for a few years and mainly just read the MOD thread! But I’ve decided to join properly to not only follow the welsh regional part , but so I can block the majority in the MAD thread ! Looking like a nice cold spell incoming
Just block anyone whose from South East England it makes the thread a million times better

Yes I had a look in some of the regionals last night and they were moaning about it as well. Also, someone from Kent recently said in the mod thread, "Def no boom for the snowless southern half of the country". What do they consider as the southern HALF for heaven's sake?? Utterly clueless arrogance!
Check out the Scottish and North West thread there are a few unhappy folk in there this evening because of the bias and IMBYism yeah it's a joke Wales doesn't seem to exist in their eyes!

It’s hilarious They should try and live on the mild west coast of Wales haha don’t see us moaning
Yeah I'd say west wales has been worse for not seeing much snow this winter, wasn't it just a few weeks ago they had an amber warning for snow for parts of the south east? it was probably the most embarrassing amber warning the met office have ever issued they can't cope with anything over a cm of snow!

Just been having a look in some of the other regional threads and it seems like we're not the only ones fed up of the south east bias in the mod thread I think it's about time now we had two separate mod threads, one for the south east lot so they can moan and whinge about how they haven't had any snow this winter and how the models are downgrades because the charts aren't showing snowmageddon in their back yards, and one for the rest of us and the uk.

Yup, you've upset the snowflakes now and not the ones they are praying for. They are so overly focused on specifics in there. How can they predict something that changes constantly by looking at algorithms produced from previous events? I'm staying in this thread anyway wheres there's a bit more common sense. And its less bitey.
I just put a few of them on my ignore list it should make the thread a bit more bearable

It's mad how upset they get over one run, it's supposed to be the model discussion thread, not the toy throwing thread. Several other models recently have shown them to have 20cm+ in the South East, but they seem to forget about those and take each run as gospel! At this stage it's all about trends
The toy throwing and overreactions from them is honestly laughable, they also seem to get very jealous when other areas in the uk get snow and they don't.

I did the same in there some years back and got much the same responses as you did, it's pointless. They respond with sarcasm and then insist they are just stating what the models are showing. Well yes, but they express in terms of southeast England only.
I know mate the IMBYism from the south east members has been shocking this winter, before I signed up I was a lurker for many years and I have to say the IMBYism is the worst it's ever been, they may as well rename the thread the south east model output discussion.

Seems like I caused a bit of a stir in the mod thread, they're a sensitive bunch in the south east aren't they

We really need to be careful here.
Not everyone lives in South East England.

met office
Sunday:
Some rain across south-western areas with perhaps some snow over the hills in south Wales. Elsewhere, largely dry with bright or sunny spells for some. Wintry showers in far north.
I wouldn’t trust their text forecasts, their video forecasts on YouTube have been far more accurate this winter.

Welcome. Only the Met Office model has it missing us. We'll see what the ECM is showing later.
I hope so mate as today was very disappointing, was hoping to see at least some falling snow but didn’t even get that, if the front does make it it should definitely fall as snow though so we’ll just have to watch the radar and hope for the best

Welcome nice first post
Thank you not sure what happened but I wasn’t able to add any text, can’t see us getting any snow tomorrow as the front doesn’t even get into Wales before it fizzles out.

Wales/Cymru Regional Weather Discussion
in Wales / Cymru weather discussion

Snow showers in the east will definitely make it over to South East Wales just like in 2018 before the blizzard hit. Feb 2009 was probably the best example, snow showers piling in from the east which merged into longer spells of snow for south wales, I remember it snowed everyday for 5 consecutive days and I ended up having a week off school
