I think you’re right, it’s happened a lot over the last few days whenever the wind has been predominantly easterly. Would be interesting to find out why, because the Thames doesn’t seem to do the same down south

I've still got hope for what's just offshore. It does all seem to be splitting north and south at the last minute though.

Interesting how, like yesterday, showers fade at the mouth of the Tyne when coming in on an easterly wind. Doesn't seem to affect the showers north and south of here.

Are we expecting showers to carry on that late? I hope they do but I was under the impression it was all winding up early afternoon.

Definite lull now, especially for Tyneside. Shame... right in the middle of the day. Anything in the sun is warming up.

My very unscientific assumption was that the change from NE to E has caused a bit of a gap whilst the easterly showers move over

Looking more easterly now... I’m hoping that if it is then we’ll get the blue circle, but if it stays NE we’ll get the red circle...

Yep, none of them moving in a straight line and the radar seems to struggle to pinpoint them.

Keeping a close eye on that one too, could be the best so far but it's hard to tell for sure until it hits the coast.

CLS-bound I think, too far east for NCL as it stands.

Definitely. Was hoping it would hit me in NCL head on but looks to be heading for you. The showers do seem to be spreading out on landfall though so hopefully should catch some of it on the way past.

Looking ahead on the radar you should be in for a heavy one passing south of Newcastle?

Was just about to say, they actually look to be building nicely. Fingers crossed...

Radar looks better than I'd expected, especially for Sunderland-->Redcar. Maybe some decent showers for Tyneside too, as long as they don't fade on landfall!
