So the storm hit but not as bad as i was expecting, we had quite a lot of CC lightning and loud cracks that went on for a good 45 minutes, but the rain wasn't torrential, just heavy and then a good couple of hours of moderate rain, just stopped. Watching it approach from the East and South East from the hill i was on though was amazing to watch and to see a cell grow so rapidly too was unreal. Once it got too close i got off that hill and headed back. Not a bad storm, but an average one id say but sounds like Coventry, Lemington spa and Bedfordshire had it pretty bad. Took a lot of pics but wasn't the best as there was a lot cloud before the storm so was obscuring the best views of it. 3rd storm this year so far and only in Early/Mid June.

    What hill were you on?

I was up on Barr beacon and it was amazing to see it incoming from the east.

Dunno whether to stay put or to head a little to the NW later. Might see how things develop and decide later, but i have a feeling things are gonna explode this afternoon in some parts of the Midlands, Wales and NW England.

Stay put sparkiee.  I'm just down the road in cannock. Trust me we are in the hot spot area

  3. Starting to look very interesting from Saturday afternoon into late on Sunday for anyone fortunate enough to be living in the west Midlands and Shropshire and into the Welsh marshes.

Definitely. Although to be fair it was raining at home.

Currently at Bishops Stortford trying to decide my next move. M11 is also shut (as is the M1) but can still get to the M25 and on to Kent by going round the closure.

Alternatively I could stick with the Essex coast, which is closer.

@Peachy good luck tonight, nice to see I'm not the only one willing to drive a long distance to see a storm 👍

Thanks @Supacell and good luck to you too.

Chasing storms is a huge passion for me and I wouldn't swap it for anything.

I’m at my in-laws in Telford atm waiting to see if the storms on the Welsh border/Hereford move anywhere towards here, before going back home to Wrexham. My hubby is moaning at me because he wants to go home. Is it worth me hanging on or will those storms not make it here? 😆

I'm currently peed off as earlier today I was down Somerset way and missed those storms around Warminster by a couple of hours lol

Unfortunately it looks to be heading in the direction of Kidderminster. Wolverhampton and on to cannock.
