Fantastic. I'm in that grey patch just to the east of Central Wales. Honestly couldn't make it up.
I wouldn't worry too much. Thunderstorms could develop just about anywhere over great Britain in the next 3 days.

Well it all looked very promising here this afternoon with huge cauliflower clouds building and towering. I was convinced it was all going to kick off this evening but unfortunately its all evaporated for some strange reason and we are now back to clear blue sky.

Definite signs of the breakdown occurring here in the Midlands.
Been several big bunches of clouds around most of the afternoon but during the last hour they have started massively expanding and are definitely rising and attempting to tower.
I'm certain they have bust through the cap and I'm expecting cells to pop up within the next couple of hours.

There's a definite change in the air now. For the first time in days the clear blue skies here in the Midlands are being replaced with huge clouds growing by the hour.
I predict the breakdown has started and we could see some huge storms earlier than predicted.

Please don't get disheartened guys about the recent lack of storms. The heat of late has just been too dry to kick-start any thunder storms.
Good news is that we are fast approaching August. Now is the time when we enter high humidity. Perfect for creating the storms we all crave.
I'm convinced we will see some crackers over the next few weeks.

I just can't understand what's gone wrong.
Only a few years ago you could virtually guarantee magnificent thunderstorms after a couple of hot days in the summer. These days we are lucky to hear a distant faint rumble.

I think we need to face up to the fact that the uk just doesn't do decent storms anymore.

Folks who say it's too windy for storms need to remember that just because it's windy at lower levels doesn't mean it's windy higher up where the storms are building.
Definitely more chance of storms today than yesterday.

Is any of this on any forecast?
Not as far as I'm aware but as we know the thunderstorm forecast never come to fruition.
I'm pretty certain that cooler Western low due later will force the warm air up popping the cap and produce some fantastic displays in the early hours.

It's disappointing and I'm surprised it hasn't all kicked off with these crazy temperatures.
Personally I think it's down to the cap.
I'm convinced that when the western front moves in later this evening and during the night it will force the warm air up busting through the cap and giving us some fantastic displays through the early hours.

Many cells will start developing in the next hour over much of southern and central England.
Things are about to get interesting soon.

Conditions here in the Midlands seem absolutely perfect. We have all the ingredients for thunder storms.
I'm expecting it to kick off around 4pm onwards.

If I really had to try and nail down a location for tomorrow, I think a region between Wrexham, Liverpool, Manchester towards Blackpool might do best.
I'm not so sure Ben.
I'm thinking shropshire, and west midlands and into North Staffordshire will get the cream.

Looks like us lucky midlanders and surrounding areas will be having bangers and crash for tea tomorrow evening.
