Yesterday was far better here in South staffs. Plenty of thunder and beautiful cloud formation. Nothing but rain today and not a single thunder clap. -

Well its been a fantastic day in South Staffordshire today. I've been out on a 16 mile hike and witnessed some fantastic cloud formation, several thunder cracks and lightning. I remained dry throughout my hike without a drop of rain. Absolutely loved it and now chilling out with a beer and some good food -

Some nice breaks in the clouds in the Midlands now and warming up nicely. No longer a matter of if but more a matter of when -

I'll be up on the brecon beacons at the crack of dawn waiting for the kick off with my camera. Thankfully there are lots of caves nearby I can duck into when the lightning strikes. -

It's forecast thunderstorms over the weekend for the south but I'm not expecting much as it's not going to get anywhere near warm or humid enough to create anything significant. -

I'm very interested in hearing about the 1990's and 2000's thanks for this fantastic post. Great reading -
It's alright for some. Just about every country in Europe has had storms over the last few days but the UK as usual gets diddly squat. This country is a complete and utter joke.

Could be interested if those 3 weather systems near Brest, angers and nantes collide. Could throw up a supercell. -
