Summer 2021 is over as far as I’m concerned. It’s a pitiful 17c here with a chilly breeze. Can’t sit outside at my mums place. We spent the afternoon indoors. Too cold and it’s late august.
What a dreadful summer this has been. Hardly any sunshine either.
Agree. Kids haven't had the paddling pool out ONCE. Absolutely dreadful.

Looks beautiful down there. My sister was down in Devon last week, and she had it nice as well. Meanwhile here in the London area, it's the same day on bloody repeat again. Cold, grey muck. Awful summer.

Wow, just for a change a cold, cloudy summers day!.No 5,950.Im 52,and this has to be the coldest, greyest, most miserable summer for a very long time here in the London area. And looking at this coming week, more of the same. Yuk!.

I'm one of these stubborn refuse to be beaten types,so I'm sitting in the garden, enjoying the grey laden skies!. Surely this is the greyest summer ever?. And every, flipping day, it seems to rain. I know they are suffering ridiculous temps, in southern Europe, but couldn't a little bit of that move our way?. What have we done to the gods to deserve this crud!.

Hermits, with little or no outdoor activities
Absolutely. I feel more energised, more inclined to exercise, as soon as spring arrives. Winter?. You can keep it!.

Yep! At least the majority of people outside of weather forums actually enjoy warm, sunny weather during the summer.
Life is so much more cheerful when the weather is good (though good is up for interpretation here!)
Yes, why are they such lovers of dark at 4pm and cold?. Always found that a bit odd tbh.

If ou feel cheerful, just come on here. You'll be reaching for the prozac in no time!. How you can right off all of August before its even started is beyond me!. Cmon give mother nature a chance

What an awful outlook. Autumn starting early this year it seems.
As I said last week, enjoy the heat because it'll likely be the last you'll see of it this summer.
The Midlands North looks particularly uninspiring.
Fingers crossed for final week in August for something more seasonal. Long wave suggests not, perhaps something better in September.
Your a ray of sunshine aren't you!. I bet we get a heatwave in August.

All i can say is this summer is definitely over - lets hope May - August 2022 is better.
How do you know summer is definitely over?. If it isn't aren't you going to look foolish?.

30+ is better if you have kids and a decent sized pool to put up!. They shiver less.. I'm always amused at how folks on here love to dismiss an entire month, especially on the charts forum. I'd love to know their success rate!. A week from now, and we could have another heatwave on the horizon. Chill ya beans!!

Yes, exactly. Was watching Gavin Partridges update earlier and yes, the 2 week outlook is indeed very poor generally but you always get a lot of scatter at this range anyway, and then still 4 weeks of summer after that which is in my view absolutely up for grabs. (Ie no one knows) Yes it could be poor, but equally we may get another heatwave, or hopefully a cracking plume event..
I know zero about weather, but I know I've seen many a time on the BBC that they don't see another heatwave on the horizon. Only for there to be another heatwave within 10 days!. So by my guess, anything beyond 10 days is guesswork.

Such misery guts!. No one can tell the weather a week accurately from now.Dont write off August yet!.

The 10 day forecast on here does my head in. It gives a feel like temp of 32c then a few hours later, it's down to 23c!.Im no expert, but that and the BBC, that loves to keep putting the 25c temps further, and further away, just make you depressed!.

The 91-20 summer averages for London now are actually 21.6c for June, 23.9c for July and 23.4c for August.
Maybe the 2nd half of July and August will offer an improvement, as happened in 2016, 2019 and 2020.
God I flipping hope so!.

I'm no expert, just a casual observer, but I looked earlier at the European cities, and we seem depressingly to be the only ones, getting such appalling weather!. Moscow next ten days?. Between 29-32c.MOSCOW!.
