On/off snow in Skipton and surrounds. Going to make for an interesting night I think. 20231203_180938.mp4

Spent all night pulling people out of snow and getting them to safety, time for a snooze now. Was out between 0100-0700, A59 between Skipton amd Harrogate was measuring 40-50cm on the road at that time at high points, drifting higher than that. We had to use service 4x4s rather than actual fire engines because of road conditions.

We've a swift water rescue team on immediate standby here in Skipton to cover Craven for the next 24hrs, while we are primed for all the other jobs (unsafe structures, fires, RTCs, rescues etc). There's so much standing ground water that whatever we get is goingto cause dramas.

Ha thanks, it seemed appropriate! Putting the 13.5m ladder up last night to secure a roof was a tad emotional. Service prepping for the next as we speak. We're always there.
