Ouch, not good for snow lovers. NW France looks mild too might nudge a 20C there.
Mild weather has been lurking for a while now -

I'm saying nothing after last weekend lol, the cold was close though. Looking forward to the new year, February used to be a good month for snow.

I think all these people longing for sub zero temperatures and snowfall must be millionaires. I, for one, am glad for a mild spell as heating costs are nearing being unsustainable.
Haha I'd love snow Christmas Eve, but for any other time 16C will do me fine. Cold weather will put a serious dent in anyones pocket, wanting Snow I guess is like wanting Cocaine , both are white and powdery and come with a very high price .

normal 2000+ day really, chance of heat record or 2 going today, maybe for Dec in some areas, or for 19th, unreal warmth out there
miss my cold/snowy 1990's winters
Record is 18.7 (2019) - Max is 16 at the moment, so it's not far off. The fact it's been so cold recently makes it feel even warmer, feels like Spring outside.

An improvement this morning albeit not quite enough yet to bring most of Wales in the game for some festive weather but a few adjustments here and there and both Wales and Ireland should tap in on the action.
Here's hoping for an upbeat positive day of modelling
It's close, Wales has the advantage of the hills/black mountains/beacons which will drop the temperatures higher up.
13C at the moment here in Mid Wales though.- 2

What do you mean “the new year looks mild”, that’s a T+384 chart!
Well I would have thought Low pressure becoming established in the South West, is bound to lead to mild conditions for Christmas and new year.
It's not often we get a cold northerly blast like we had recently.- 1

5C warmer than expected here today already, Mild Christmas is 100% certain now I reckon.

What a complete turnaround to mild conditions next week throughout!
Nothing wintry showing in the GFS 6z run!
Yes the low pressure to the SW is becoming established, it's 5C warmer than expected here today.
Concern I guess should be in the form of rain/floods rather than snow. Mild Christmas pretty much certain now.- 2

Cold spell seems to be moving away now, was minus 4 but now rain falling much warmer today,
Christmas Eve does look colder but App says 11C rain - will see!- 3

Would be nice to see snow Xmas eve, apart from that I'd rather have it mild. It's just a waste of money/energy costs.

To be fair asking everything in the universe to align correctly for Christmas snow is so rare. The up side is less people freezing, less money on heating bills.

Interesting 06z the mild weather lasts 1 day monday than woosh the cold is back.

"Get the cold in first, snow comes next..."
Usually the best sticking snow comes after a good run up of a few weeks of cold.

I was only a few miles away from the "Welsh Storm" last night. Finally managed to be in the right spot for a change.
Probably one of the best lightning displays since 1989, 2006 here (Ludlow, Shropshire)
