Is there some instability around south wales as noticed some showers been popping up but I don’t think it’s much
South Wales has been the absolute worst place in the uk for storms so far this year it’s a joke!

My location looks iffy, decent snow now, surfaces turning white, tomorrows front could start as snow, then turning less cold with a thaw, then more snow possible Fri AM as cold heads back south
Why is that iffy?

I listened...got what was expected but didn't the BBC (MeteoGroup) only yesterday have graphics of precipitation (snow/rain) along the south coast about far north as London for today? it's been raining all day and certainly not lasting this duration?
Give me a true easterly which are becoming rare as hens teeth to these northerlies (which we seemed to be having of late)...
Well you clearly live in one of the worst places in the uk for snow regardless of a ssw or not. Instead of moaning about what the weather won’t give you, try moving you’ll have better luck.

I'm nearly double your elevation here in Blaenavon. We always do well on these set ups!
When it comes to this type of set up the South Wales valleys is the place to be for snow. It explains why most of the SE mob are jealous of us, they wish they had our hills and mountains

Just my thoughts that looks beefy but AROME takes it into SW UK and just misses us
And how accurate has AROME been this week so far exactly

I can second that
Looks like it’s starting to cover everything again too! Hopefully it can keep up this intensity for a good few hours

Round 2 incoming heavy snow here again!

Hands down the best snow event since the bfte in 2018! Still more snow to come this afternoon and into this evening for south east wales especially over high ground

Absolute whiteout here again massive flakes!

The snow is quite powdery like it was in 2018, watching it blowing off the rooftops in the strong easterly wind

The front reaches Pembrokeshire within the next hour or so. It will be interesting to see how it presents and develops down West. Anyone have live dewpoints for Pembroke / Milford area?

I'll set the alarm for about 3.30am to have a peak outside. Think the main event is tomorrow afternoon though, anytime from 11am onwards.
It’ll be nice if we can get a covering tonight from the first band before the fun and games start tomorrow afternoon/evening

I don't trust any of these charts to be honest. I've also noticed in the model discussion thread that if a model is showing what people don't want to see then instantly it's wrong.
It’s all meltdowns and toys out of the pram it’s funny It’s only the weather at the end of the day, tbh if this ssw happened back in January I’d be getting excited like in 2018 but the best we can really hope for next week is a few snow showers, maybe a covering at night if we get lucky in any prolonged heavy showers

Not going to get my hopes up, been stung before with these charts. One things for sure it won't be anything like 2018.
Indeed mate not buying all the hype this time ssw or not it’s just too late in the year this time. The Synoptics are nowhere near as good as they were in 2018 and northerlies are awful for snow for us inland as December just gone proved.

I noticed the Iberian ridge looking prominent a day or two back and noted the potential implications as we move towards summer. It seems to be becoming more of a feature year after year.
Let’s hope not, really hoping for a cool and wet summer this year!

A new weather warning for snow and ice from 12pm until 12pm tomorrow has just been issued by the met office, it covers the whole of wales more or less except for costal areas.

Been a nightmare watching the radar this summer everywhere else but the valleys have had storms it’s a p…take! We’ve had just one storm so far in my location back at the start of may and that only lasted about half an hour! It’s getting worse every year
