Morning all, thanks all for the kind messages yesterday. Was a very uncomfortable day but at least I’ve got a view out over Poole harbour harbour from my hospital bed shame the sky isn’t a little more blue. Will find out if surgery is needed on my ankle this morning. Looks like I’m going to be stuck here a while and will have to suck up weeks more of cloud and rain…

Well I believe the saying goes ‘if you didn’t have bad luck, you’d have none at all’ and that’s certainly the case this morning. Was meant to be embarking on an adventure which was supposed to combine work and play over the next few months however instead this morning I’ve woken in hospital with what is now looking like a pretty badly broken ankle, dislocated knee, concussion and other bumps and bruises. Was out walking the dog late yesterday and was hit by a complete idiot on an e-scooter. Pretty much the whole summer is going to be ruined

B87 those temps look optimistic. Models don’t support high teens at the moment. Oh look it’s raining again, actually quite heavy and the skies are slate grey again….

I’m landing into DFW just after lunchtime on Saturday and under a 15% hatched area at the moment close to the 30% hatched area. Im going for a work trip but tempted to hire a car straight from the airport…..although with this I would be extremely nervous given this situation looks like it could be pretty serious. Given the big 30% hatched area I don’t see how this doesn’t end up at least a moderate threat assuming the modelling holds firm.

B87 yes getting to the time of year now where for large parts of E+W getting to 20C should really take a lot of effort. Apart from the odd day most places struggling at 10-14C. Really disappointing.

Another clear blue start to 100% overcast by 10am. Worst climate ever!

B87 Vegas and Albuquerque have a lot of altitude though to help, Vegas is nearly 800metres, Albuquerque just over a mile up.

danm looking at output I think mean maxes in the south will be dragged down quite a bit. GFS doesn’t have temps getting much 10-12C for the next and only 12-15C Monday and Tuesday. Then apart from the 1st nothing above 15C until the 9th which would be incredibly poor.

Freezing cold dog this morning although at least it wasn’t raining or windy which is something of a miracle. Playing golf today, although really looking forward to it as it’s so raw. Weather for Dallas looks good from the weekend, highs in the upper 20s or low 30s and mins around 20C with a severe storm or 2 possible. Can’t wait.

Have to say the model output in the medium term has again turned very unsettled and dominated by low pressure. Absolutely nothing to suggest anything warm, sunny and dry before before or during the bank holiday weekend.

B87 I know what you mean, green green grass in July is not a good sight if you like hot summery weather. I love it when everything is lush and green in May and early June but would be quite happy if it didn’t rain from then to mid September.

Mapantz last year April had 160hrs of sun at Bmth airport (which 15% below average) only 100hrs month to date. Might sneak 140hours but that’s pushing it. So another poor months sunshine.
