  1. MET office states 19C there today, 19C tomorrow and 20C Tuesday, not bad if that happens....maybe not
  2. I dont blame you for preferring the milder patterns.... those Easters are perhaps becoming rarer as weather patterns change over long periods. Shame about yesterday then. Better today though ? Forecast 24C on the coast here. 7C above average !
  3. Impressive. Not far off the 29.9C at Gravesend, same day. I recall being very annoyed how it missed 30C by 0.1C
  4. Do you know what the record is for Manchester in October ? I'd imagine around 25C ?
  5. Yes that pesky solar flux. The increased urbanizations warming up the cities. We should all be miserable about warmth. Of course, we do contribute to a degree, but the historical means start the run in a cool period, the late 19th century.
  6. Reached over 25C Heathrow. True, this is rather an extended spell of temperatures about 3 degrees higher than what we'd normally expect to happen in any given October. 12C for 15th ? BBC saying more like 18C here. Weatheronline stating 15C for London. The sea temperature here is still 18C, very nice for a swim still.
  7. Ha yes,the annual average for St Johns is around 6C. Similar annual to the Falklands, but much warmer in Summer. Corner Brook is warmest, from my observations. Cold or very cold from December to March, chilly April and November, mild to warm May to October. That sea lag is pronounced all around that region !
  8. Yes 18th i remember now. Thanks for the stats. Having 26C on the 18th is a feat, as the sun altitude equivalent is 24th February ! Yes will be interesting to see if we get that November one broken, doubt it will for some years though. TORRO, familiar with that site. I met Dr Terrence Meaden out in Wiltshire a few times back in the 1990's. Seen quite a few waterspouts out to sea here, not uncommon really. One came over the seafront (transitioning to a tornado of course) and sounded like a steam train, ripping across the putting green into town.
  9. Very warm in Newfoundland at the moment, over 20C. Happy valley is often the warmest. Labrador city reached 23C, well over the 5C average maxima. Its Nottingham latitude, but 550 metres and exposed to Greenland !
  10. I think the latest a 26C was recorded was the 26th October, from memory, Linconshire i think
  11. Well, they did say early October. So i will be pedantic hehe. But yes, its a very warm spell, i think the record is 29C.
  12. Yes thanks for reply on this, the BBC guy and gal actually said this stage in october, early october. Yes, London 20.1C september, 15.9C october The average from 1991 to 2023 for Heathrow is 20.5 sept, 16C october.
  13. Eastbourne has the warmest nights from June to September in the UK.. But its is definitely cooler in the day on average than Bexhill June to August due to the angle of coastline. So even such as small distance can have a noticeable temperature difference a short distance along the coast. I note this when popping over to Eastbourne, then back to Bexhill, with around 5C difference in easterlies. Was 22C today on my thermometer deep shade.
  14. Yes, i folow USA and Canada weather closely as its so fascinating, the swings are very interesting, i bore my girlfriend over it
  15. Southend 25C , Heathrow near 25C. About 8C above the 17C average for this time of year (BBC would say 15C- 16C,only a couple of forecast presenters know their averages)
