    Awesome storm going here! Massive lightning strikes and LOUD thunder. Torrential rain! Anyone east of here is in for a damn good show! I'll try to get some p[ictures. Going off line now, since this storm is getting really bad.

    Well, that didn't last long Lovely and sunny here now, sky to my east looks very menacing.

    Just as I was thinking that the few rumbles I heard earlier was all that would happen, snap, an almighty flash of lightning followed by loud thunder lasting about 30 seconds. Woo!

    Seems to have all died down here, sky is starting to clear completely.

    The line between the towers over London seems to be just passing over here, can see some patches of blue sky between the blackness that is north and south of me. Low rumbles of thunder coming from both north and south.

    Has the storm over London changed direction? Seems to be getting closer again. Back-building?

    Thunderstorm here started about 5pm. Not much lightning, but plenty of thunder and some light rain.

    We've had some good flashes of lightning and some light rain. Storm seems to be moving off northwards now, can still hear the thunder.

    Just started getting thunder here, a few rumbles within the last few minutes. Sky is getting pretty dark.

    It has just started to get nice and sunny here, with the sky clearing for the first time today. Hopefully bodes well for later this evening.

    Snow has stopped completely here now. Looks like that's all we're going to get. Ah, but what a beautiful sight outside. Everything is just white.

    Well unless there's anything else heading up from the south, I think that the show here is just about finished. Only very light snow here for the last half hour and definite slight melting happening.

    Yeah, the trouble is I can't get to it right now. I have to climb out of the window onto the ledge outside and that's covered in snow and ice. Maybe I should spray it with water or something.

    Starting to get very heavy here. I've lost the bcc news channel on my sky tv, probably from all the snow on the dish.

    Moderately heavy snow here now. Went outside on the balcony and had some fun building a mini-snowman and listening to the mass of kids having epic snowball fights down in the square. If it carries on like this we'll have the same again as what fell last night, possibly more.

    Light snow just beginning here. I swear if it snows any more I won't be able to get out of the door!

    As promised, photos taken in daylight. I cleared a patch and leant the ruler against the snow outside my window so you can get an idea of how much snow there is.

    Seems to have died down completely here, so I'm going to take this opportunity to tear myself away from the window and go to bed. Heh, and just as I was writing this it has started snowing again with some fury. Still going to bed though, I'm cold and sleepy after my photo excursion.

    Yes, it's around 3/4 inches. Best snow I've seen in years, usually we get 20 minutes of dust and anything that settles turns to a grey sludge within an hour, but walking up to the main road I could feel that proper snow 'crunch'.

    Just had a walk around outside when the snow had eased off a little to take some pictures. It's lovely out, but I wish I'd worn wellies - the bottom of my trousers got soaked. :lol:

    I wouldn't count on it. The light dusting of snow we had last year was enough to foul up the bus service and this is a major snowfall. I'd definitely check before you leave the house. London doesn't deal well with snow.
