From 500hpa to 1000hpa on the south coast, there are definitely some interesting wind vectors. From the look of it there could be enough to encourage updrafts to rotate.
-
Yep
A sit and wait Jobby James. Certainly not worth the Petrol at the moment.
Paul S
Yeah i know thats why im still sat at home in my PJs with a cuppa haha.

I think that might be all she wrote for the south coast. Though i could be wrong.

Have a Question for anyone who is in the know on Dewpoints etc
Q. Why is Southend 12c and City of London 4c on the Dewpoints - This has me and Paul M Baffled atm ??
James the NMM Model shows the last dregs of the CZ Exiting that area and points East of there at 8-9pm, so might be worth a sniff
Paul S
Ok mate. Might have a ganders.

Hi James
Stuck at work Unfortunately but getting home early in case the CZ Down South manages to spark anything off further along the Coast for this evening, Damn just wish I was out there as East Sussex looks a good bet. Go bag a goodun and get some pictures up for later!
Paul S
Oh thats sucks. I was looking at shooting down to Brighton/worthing area. You recon east Sussex is better bet?
-
Hey Paul you going out chasing? With all these reports coming in today im considering an intercept down towards Brighton.
-
Ummm yeah you lot might want to be sitting down for this video. It was shot from inside a bus at the tornado hits. The bus get knocked over. Alot of screaming. Not nice but still incredible. On YouTube.

Unfortunately quite a few deaths being reported from Poland from these Tornadoes, at least one EF4 Which has caused massive destruction
Looks to be a possible Level 3 for Tomorrow as well, so Nathan it is not to late to get out there for a Euro Chase - Good Luck if you attempt it with no data
Wedge Tornado footage from the Video below

HOLLY MOTHER OF ZEUS!! That tornado was MAHOOOSIVE! I reckon easily 1/2 - 3/4 mile wide wedge. To be that visible from that far away its had to have been. Poor people. Ive never heard of a tornado of that size in another country other that USA.
-
Nice one mate. I wouldnt appologise for the first pic either. In fact ida slapped on a 300mm zoom lens and put the camera on burst mode LMAO!!
-
It was very exhilarating, slightly unnerving, but at no time did I feel my life was in danger. Paul had positioned the car exceptionally - at a slight angle to a Winnebago and behind other cars, so only the very top of the vehicle was being buffeted, well away from the centre of gravity!!!
Our close encounter at Aurora has been classed as a 1/2 mile wide EF2 Wedge, which was on the ground 3/4 mile due North of us.
Andy
Man you guys are lucky that tornado stayed away from you. That could have been alot worse. Glad your all ok though. I presume you all needed clean underwear after that? I know i did when i got broadsided by a satelite tornado last yr in Kansas.

This is Paul Sherman
We have just been hit by a Tornado just off I80, Massive destruction to a Gas station, Daves Van is severly damaged, power lines down, the garage had everyone inside but we did not make it and had to ride it out in the Carpark, debris, pieces of house, wooden fences and the canopy have hit our car, this was at least F2 Damage, all taking stock at the moment, news crews everywhere. The footage is incredible.
Paul Sherman
Hope you guys are all ok. I know the feeling of being hit by a tornado all to well. NOT a nice experience. Best of luck to you all.

I remember that storm. It was a beast. Clasic supercell structure. I remember taking pictures of it from my house in Guildford Surrey as it went along the coast. Here is a pic i took. One of the best looking storm structures i have seen in the UK. Hope you like the pic. I was beside myself when i saw it.

Im making a trip over to Farnborough tomorrow to take a look at the damage. Any other researchers in that area care to join me? Could use more than one person. Message me with contact details if anyone wants to join me.
-
Wow i nailed that on the head. Just issued warnings for the SE of England.

Just started raining here in the past 5 mins nr Guildford. One distant flash of lightning, no thunder.
-
SWEET! Sounds good to me
-
Hey Sugar. I think it could well be. The storm was moving about NNE to NE at about 30-35 mph
-
Just had an EXTREMELY violent storm here just outside Guildford in the past 15 minutes. Had to shut down computer to protect it. Constant loud thunder, multiple ground strikes and constant visible anvil crawlers. House got struck 7 times in 28 minutes. We live on a hill, very exposed. God bless lightning rods haha. Best storm ive seen all yeah. I estimate about 10-15 flashes per minute. Amazing. Will post video soon.

Morning all. Well what can i say. Very nice cluster of storms rolling in. Hope i get one here in Guildford. Well just looking out my window to the E and SE i can see very faint sheet lightning, very sparse but getting more frequent. This will be my first storm of the yr after my tornado fest in USA this past three months. Could be interesting.
