  1. It's absolutely sluicing down with rain here in Bristol!
  2. Surely, since Katrina has only recently affected the Gulf States, the names haven't reached 'R' yet?! I read a newspaper, recently referring to it as Tropical Storm Rita. Therefore, I expect the name to be amended to a "lower" letter in the near future. During the hurricane season, I usually look at the "National Hurricane Center / Tropical Prediction Centre" website: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ This is, in my opinion, an extremely good site, including information such as up-to-date hurricane tracking.
  3. There is not much on the Met Office radar (1730) to suggest rain, but it the clouds are becoming quite dark grey here in Bristol. The sky is overcast and rain is certainly threatening. Just checked the Met Office radar again (it hadn't refreshed to show 1800) - I can make out a couple of small blue echoes forming around the Mendip Hills area.
  4. Nothing on the radar to suggest imminent rain, but the sky has gone very dark to the east of me, against the sunshine out to the west. The wind is extremely gusty here in Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol, and I am a little concerned, with the tornado reports in Birmingham! The gusts must be reaching at least 40 mph at their highest.
  5. Not exactly a report I'm posting - however, it looks, according to 'Euro Lightning' on 'Net-Weather', that some more storms are breaking out (or have broken out in the past hour or so) just to the north of Dublin. Note the yellow 'x' symbols showing lightning occurring after around 4:00pm this afternoon.
  6. Those clouds look rather 'heavy' - was there some very heavy rain coming from this shower? I heard a forecast of widespread heavy showers with possible hail and thunder just about UK-wide for Monday and Tuesday - so I suppose your shower today is a sign of things to come.
