tbh i think pluto should be classed as a planet for its asthetic properties but scienfically it is not a planet, just a case of luck really

John Cox's photo does it for me, perfect colour rendition and contrast between the colours of the sky , grass, sea and sand, you can almost imagine yourself there, well done mate! . If i could have a second vote it would be louby's cracking capture of lightning .

Hi , i have managed to get a Vantage pro system wireless weather station (not sure if its pro2 yet though, but it does have a solar sensor) and it has everything bar the rainfall collector, does the davis 'rain collector 2' work with it, or if any of you know where i can get a replacement i would be very grateful, thanks

Not in my experience mate.
I remember only too recently when my next door neighbor's house was struck by lightning, there was a short and very loud deafening crack. Bloody scared the hell out of me.
Maybe different environment, but when a house not far from me got hit, it sounded just like a bomb explosion. Probably due to building shapes etc.

NO! when its really really close outside it is a INSTANT CRACK! and in a car its just well you heard it windows closed and--- a THUD! as the shock wave is very close, 2002 I got a flash burn from a CG on my hand it was a instand VERY LOUD CRACK----no rubble me mates in the car didnt even hear it as I stood outside a few feet from them
Ref our Tornado shot it is at the moment nearly 500mb as soon as it gets shrunk I will post it
Ah, ok cheers for that. You would have thought it would be a really long sort of bomb type sound like when lightning is about 50 metres or so wouldnt you, very interesting stuff though

It's been a year today since the one day heatwave of 27th May 2005.
London reached 32c and the heat was felt right across the UK.
Here in Telford the high was 25.7c and i remember it being the first
real warm day of 2005.
oh the memories
I think this summer will be alot later in getting going comared with last summer, however it looks to start next week getting warmer from wednesday onwards.
