I consider myself suitably pulled-up HC. Apologies.
(But the driver definitely was one!)
A plastic pirk?

Bright sun and fairly rapid thaw this afternoon. Started to freeze as the sun went down. Pleasant if chilly out.

Someone finally listening at the BBC?

Lunchtime brightened up, took dog to the beach. Back home, soup, then washing hung out. Bloody rain on again now.
What happened to yesterday

Same here on the coast Blitzen, Sat on bench at Kinghorn overlooking the blue Forth with the sun on our backs. Perfect day and hardly a soul on the beach below the cliffs.

+12C showing on the car thermometer as I came back from walking the dog a few minutes ago. Snow? What snow? All gone except for a few straggly patches on the hills.
Dog looked fair disappointed!

Has been quite a spell, still 23cm lying here although starting to get moist on top.
Anyone fancy a who can keep snow for the longest competition?
Only downside for me is that I had to enjoy most of the big falls on radar from my concrete box at work. Did enjoy some snowy motorway trips getting there and back though.
And see pictures like this of my boy out playing while I work.
I've put some in the freezer! (Very old Beano joke)

Sky has went orange here too. Snowy clouds maybe? Reflection from lying snow?
Don't know but it went from orange through red to a sicky violet colour. Getting dark now.
Possibly just a red sunset above thin cloud but it was really weird.

Sleety rain stuff through here but a weird orangy red coloured sky. Anyone else?

Out walking the dog again and it started raining on the way back. Could go either way as it gets properly dark. Feeling is snow will mostly be gone by morning.

Aw shoot..........The sun's coming out!
Aye, sun out here in Thornton but still s few flakes falling. Through in Dumfries, pal has sent video from Leadhills. Looks to be a couple of feet deep and a snow blower has gone up the road.

Just back from Dunfermline, 35mm snow dump and still falling. Roads ok with care, most folk being sensible.
Stay safe out there if you absolutely have to go out. Otherwise make a cuppa and put the feet up.
Dog out in the garden, going nuts!

An 18-year-old Girl from Applecross, Strathcarron, Scotland has died after a bout of flu turned into pneumonia

The family and friends have taken to social media. They have been hounded by reporters especially the Scottish Daily Mail, at home and also the school, despitefully repeated requests for privacy.
I hope we can all respect their wish after this awful tragedy

Wailey, wailey!
My garden has transposed from yesterday's pristine whiteness to a sad sack patchwork of shrinking slushy patches and dreepy bushes.
Please, can my winter wonderland return? Even the dog is missing you!

Decent covering in the morning, partial thaw in the afternoon. Sky has cleared with a bright moon showing. Lying snow/slush now freezing, treacherous under foot. Take care out there!

Friends in Leyburn had to dig themselves out this morning, they are hoping to get to Lytham St Anns!

Back from dog walking, big heavy flakes and laying well on frozen ground. Been going fairly well for the last hour. Maybe 10mm on the ground so far.
Coming in easterly off the sea.

Paths were lethal this morning. Had to go to Dunfermline and decided to take the dog for a walk in Pittencrief Park. Folk sliding about all over the place and the dog was doing a Bambi on the ice. Side roads still bad and it's freezing again after a partial thaw in the sun.

Few flakes here too, nothing dramatic yet.
