Well after a great thunderstorm last night about 9pm, this signalled a change to much
colder weather, and it was snowing steadily when I went to bed at 2am. Awoke to a
dusting of snow on cars/ grass etc....much to wet to stick to the roads though.
Currently heavy & frequent wintery hail/ sleet showers.

Covering of snow here from overnight showers up in the hills of Saddleworth, has
been blowing about a fair bit too in the wind, nothing major, but its still nice to see a
covering of snow about :lol:

snowing quite moderately now, nice covering of snow & blowing a fair bit in keen
easterly wind... met office radar shows a nice large patch of snow over south
pennines, which has been here all morning as confirmed by fellow netties in glossop
and huddersfield

Been snowing lightly all morning, enough to make some surfaces white, brief
episodes of slightly more moderate snow, think this will continue all day, but not
leading to anything major, admitedly

Met office radar shows large band of rain over this area, nice pink and red colours,
which is failing as heavy snow now here in Oldham, quite large flakes, sticking to
cars/ fields, albeit wet in nature...looks like the easterly wind is kicking in! :blush:

Ice pellets and small snow flakes here in south sheffield, just started. I notice that the band of weather has decayed as its hit us, YET AGAIN!
You're not missing out on much, the predicted snow has failed to materialise, which is a bit of a shame because this freezing rain weve been having for the past few hours has actually been quite heavy! Im so dissapointed, but guess everybody is in the same boat, hence very few notices on here :o

well its still a continual blizzard up on the hills of Oldham & Saddleworth... several
inches now since 07:00, but is quite deceptive due to the drifting. Some pics just
taken within the past few hours below

Persistent blizzard since 7am.... althought quite light at first, has been heavier over
past couple of hours, hopefully some pics later if I can brave going out, the snow is
horizontal

light to moderate snow showers on and off all morning giving a light dusting to the
existing snow cover - the peak district still looks nice and snowy from my house

Happy B'day andy!!! ....and may all your future birthdays be arctic ones!! hehe. The sun is melting the snow slowly but surely now, arrr well, heres hoping for a snowy Easter!!

A nice covering of 1-2cm overnight, after yesterdays rapid thaw in the spring
sunshine. Just been on a walk and taken a few pics of the hills of Oldham &
Saddleworth, beautiful, but damn cold and icy underfoot

Heavy snow in Oldham, blizzard conditions after several days of beautiful blue skies,
just taken a few piccies of weather within last 30 mins, looing at the met office radar,
it may only be short lived though ;o(

Very heavy snowfall and white out conditions in Saddleworth/ Oldham at present...
the Arctic weather has arrived with a vengance! yey

Quite moderate snowfall @ present over the southern pennines, and is all white
outside, despite yesterdays total thaw & wet ground......hopefully get some pics later
for my fellow netties

3cm of lying snow 1st thing this am, including roads....
now raining and rapid thaw, with snow cover restricted to tops of Saddleworth Moor
this snow comes and goes so quickly these days!

Woke up to a light dusting...current conditions, mostly dry, overcast with the odd flake of snow in the air

About 30 mins of snow falling, giving a very light dusting. Has stopped now unfortuantely!

Some pretty impressive thunderstorms today in Saddleworth, seem to have cleared the air somewhat........all shall be revealed when i try and sleep shortly!

Continual snow here since about 16:30, which was preceeded by a very heavy hail
shower. This appears to be a big shower to say its been going on for quite a few
hours now. Periods of nice white snowy ground when the showers get heavier, but
then they go lighter and everything almost melts away
