  1. Spare a thought for us freezing our arses off on the East Coast - Already down to 15c with a brisk wind off the North Sea - Absolutely down right cold out there again, mind you it only maxed at 19c today at Shoeburyness :)

    Paul S

as i am off to bed soon, 15 would be bliss! last i heard it was 18 here!!

scratch that - just been told it's 22!! i think i was wishing!!

  2. Glad to hear that Kookylou, really looking forward to some heavy rain. I've kept thinking it will happen for the past couple of days

Very sorry to hear what happened to Peter F's nursery earlier. Saw on the news about the torrential rain in that location. Don't want it that bad.

well i will keep my fingers crossed for you!! as i sit here again next to the fan and dreading going to bed as it's too damn hot haha!! just kidding :) enjoy them!!!

  3. Thursday's chart looking a bit better with a burst of CAPE spreading in from the SE - Friday looking marginally better.

As of 1500 - London 31C, while just down the M4, Cardiff 22C - astonishing!

Mind you by the sounds of thing Cardiff may be in with a whiff of something later tonight, depending of course on the track and intensity of the precip forecast to run into the SW

    fingers crossed!!!!

  4. Chilly?? :)

It's amazing how different the weather can be around a relatively small island - one area getting showers/storms and another not is common sense and expected. SE being hot and sunny and cardiff being 'positively chilly', is not...small island, massive contrasts!

That mass coming up from the S is worth watching still

    Heatwave....i'll say :)

Truth be told, I cannot say I find Friday's GFS charts promising at all at the moment - the CAPE for Thursday has already been downgraded a fair bit and pushed E towards SE/EA, then for Friday the best of the CAPE reserved for EA and not so much the SE corner. The hope for imports too looks poor at this stage, with most if not all staying across the channel. Still have two three more days to go, but at this stage - booo!

when i nipped out at around 11.30 this morning i felt quite chilly!! there was a breeze and heaps of cloud and it definitely felt colder!! random i know but all my work has been commenting on it!! but in contrast, i went out about 10 mins ago and it's now very warm and slightly uncomfortable!!

  5. Cleeve hill and Bushcombe hill I love em lol.Yes when we get a storm over the hill we don't have get a good one there. It kind of makes up for all the storms we don't get lol

haha they are cracking storms round there - i don't know if 2004 was an especially good year or not but i seem to remember about 4 weeks of a lot of storms and chasing them back up the M5 to birmingham!! good times!!

  6. dogs,

I have just been outside and we now have some Ac cas forming( I think thats what they are called anyway lol)

Also some convection starting again over Cleeve hill.

    One can hope lol.

oh i love cleeve hill!! spent summer 2004 doing my field dissertation around there and saw some incredible storms!!

  7. Must admit, the 06z UKMO meso model doesn't looks so good for storms across SE and S England this afternoon, with the emphasis more towards the Midlands and SE Wales seeing storms where there is more forcing near the CZ. Seems the convective temp to be reached *maybe* too high, despite sunshine increasing across Sern counties.

what what what?!?! could we be lucky again!?!?!?! :)
