Give it chance. All the warm is being mixed out it has been constant ice pellets here since 6.30am. Should make a decent base.

Many on here get excited when we have minus 11 uppers and talk of snow . However currently where I live 12 miles inland from coast it is rainy with temp of 1.7 c and the uppers are -11 c . We really need for low ground ( majority ) pretty cold air to get snow . Will the east coast really see snow on the models this week or is the bbc correct sleet
Snowing currently in Hull similar distance!

Patchy cover most of the snow melting overnight so turned back to rain for a wile the looks of things. Radar may give us a few flurries but other wise zippo at the moment
Poor start from the kitten from the east.
The showers are very heavy though it is gradually turning whiter

Sit-rep from one of most easterly outposts. We have graupel and fine snow blowing in. Last nights snow has gone but at least its much drier now. Its the stuff the blows around in the wind... Its a start

Glad it's all stopped nearly here to be fair. Gives it chance for the wind to hopefully dry us out a bit and get some colder air in. Its horrendous out there currently.

Seems to be raining here now! Melting especially on tarmac surfaces but that was a nice taster for what is hopefully to come! Just need this cold air to arrive and we are good to go. I notice the north sea shower machine already cranking up around Newcastle
Yeah that's what happened here. I think it's warmer air and colder air mixing out.

Temp now 1.6°C and rising. Ha, you couldn't make it up, says he as the rain falls. Next heavy (snowy?) burst should be here in an hour or so. Gonna watch some telly in the meantime....
It's coming. Stopped nearly here now

Back to sleet under the lighter stuff now. More incoming though.
I think we might get ice pellets rattling in layer. Shows that the uppers are mixing out and DP's are dropping

I concur its hammering down.. Way earlier than I thought.

The Beeb forecast looks massively underwhelming compared to all the ppn charts.

Heaters are ready to be lit in the greenhouses. Don’t want any Mediterranean plants to freeze. Although we have had rain today I was expecting it to be much heavier. Hope it’s not blowing over our heads like 2018!
That was an utter disaster. I'm hoping 2010

Looking in the MO this could be just the pre match warm up. Everything trending Igloo right up to the end. The 4 dayer keeps getting pushed back and back

I still think we need this rain needs to bu**er off its horrendous out there. I can see a slushy mess out of this personally. Why can it never be straight forwards like it used to be in the 70's I'll never forget those halcyon times as a kid.
