  1. hi all was woken up at 3.30 this morning to a massive clap of thunder with lightning, it continued on till about 5am, lots of fork lightning and thunder, also loads of heavy rain. i should think a lot of people in poole and bournemouth were woken by the storm
  2. hi there, i was struck by lightning 10 yrs ago, i`m still getting over it now, i normaly hide under the stairs, but last week my husband thought it was a good idea for us to go to baiter and sandbanks to watch the storm and face my fear head on! to be honest i enjoyed watching it from the safety of the car. we had another storm the next day, i was at home and struggled to cope, i seem to be able to cope when i`m in the car but not anywhere else. this is why i was asking about the lightning conductors.
  3. nice evening after a lovely day. but i did read on teletext that thunderstorms are forecast for southwest and south possibly tonight, monday, tuesday and wednesday. i`ve only just got over last weeks massive storm.
  4. hi there highcliff2 it sounds like you had the same storm that we had in poole, it was heading towards your direction, yes, i so agree about the exciting 24 hours
  5. Had another small thunderstorm earlier, then sunny and very warm with cool breezes, now clouding over again, could there be another one? forgot to say on my last post that during last nights storm at 1am there was thunder and lightning with the moon out, it was great! there was cloud covering some of the moon with lightning around it, shame i didnt have my camera.
  6. wow, what an amazing storm last night in poole, dorset. it started late evening with a really dark sky, we watched it come from our bedroom window rolling over the purbecks, then the lightning started followed by a bit of thunder. we decided to watch from baiter in poole, when we got down there it was packed with people doing the same thing, the lightning was a fantastic show over the purbecks, swanage, poole and eventually everywhere. we then went to sandbanks, again it was packed. we watched the whole storm in the car from start to finish, we went home at 1 am, with a few flashes still going on, its the first time ive ever watched a whole storm in the car, its an experience i will never forget. im now waiting for the next one to arrive. sarah, poole.
