I haven't actually seen the paper myself but is it true the Sun newspaper forecasted 'vicious' thunderstorms for the UK today/tomorrow/thursday?
:S

Just read in The Sun that apparently it is set to reach 29c today and we could see 30c tomorrow. But "violent" thunderstorms will soon bring the spell to an end.
You never know. The Sun may be right for once!!!!!!!

East Anglia in the firing line again Wednesday?
Keeping everything crossed!!

I will literally be very excited if we get some nighttime action next week
I would love to be kept awake at night by some loud banging outside!!!!!!

Just had a very heavy downpour here but no thunder. Heading off to the south now.

Down in Ilford again today. Thank goodness for iPhones and AM radios in vans!!!!
-
Bit of a let down really. Couple of flashes and a couple of crackling rumbles....then the rain came.....
Better than nothing though!

Here we go again! FLASH BANG!!!!
:yahoo:

Got a heavy shower passing over, I think there is distant thunder but unsure. As soon as a shower or storm comes near I always have planes going over or other background noises so hard to make out any thunder at times.
Planes and wheelie bins should be banned!!!!

Just had some loud rumbles of thunder and a couple of flashes of lightning!! I'm slightly happier now.
I must really learn to be patient!!

Please could someone send some of this thunder and lightning/storms towards Bury St Edmunds as I am starting to get a bit depressed!!! :(
Just heard a distant rumble here and, finally my portable AM radio is making some noise!!
Please sir, can I have some more.

No storms here but sky is rather impressive! It's gone quite dark and there seem to be a multitude of different cloud types scudding across the sky - some slow (higher up) and some fast (nearer the ground) and of varying colours and shapes. Oh, and as I type it's just started raining again!
I did think that I heard thunder earlier but when I looked out of the window it was just one of the neighbours putting out his wheely bin - those damn things give me so many false alarms that I'm tempted to tie cowbells on them all so they don't get my hopes up!
Wheelie bins should be banned!!!!!

You can buy tablet in Boots to help cure that

Very nice photo. I feel that you can see alot more detail in a black and white photo compared to a colour one.

Don't worry this was our first proper taste of summer heat and humidity, there will be plenty more opportunities for lots of us over the coming months, July and August generally bring the hottest weather and therefore its just a case of sitting back and waiting for the next lot.
Still plenty of Summer left! Tbh I really want a nice nighttime storm so not too bothered as the rain and low cloud did not make for a spectular lights display
Keeping everything crossed for later in the year and hopefully it will happen one night!!!!

Unfortunately you've missed it all, there was some decent lightning about in Bury earlier but its all over now until next time. Skies beginning to brighten now.
Typical!!!
-
Back home now and the radio is constant crackle. No sign of any lightning as yet though.

Heading back to Suffolk along M11. Very dark and flashes to the south and I am heading north in a van with no rear windows!!!!!!!
-
In Barkingside, Essex at the moment and I keep thinking I can hear some distant rumbles.
It keeps coming over dark and I have got a stinker of a headache.
Going back to Suffolk in a couple of hours so I'm hoping something will allow me to have an exciting drive back!!!
-
Just heard a deep rumble, ran outside and it was a low flying apache from wattisham - doh!!!!!!
At least it's not bin day. The wheely bins sound like thunder if you are waiting for it!!!!!
-
I am in Bury St Edmunds and have got my digital thermometer outside in the shade and it is reading 31.4 and 41% humdity.
-
Nice, dry and sunny in Suffolk 25c at the moment. Hoping for the storms they promise :0)
