Slight wind, southish. Grey. Wet soon.

The sun's just starting to have a go here. Go on my sun!
-
Yes very interesting, Steve. Would a little glossary be the cherry on the cake? Cheers.
-
Damp, cool, miserable, no wind and smells like a city on bin day.
-
Ughh. Miserable day so far - about 11C atm.

Summer 2005 West Wales hay making news...cut to baled in the space of 3 days in June! It normally needs 5 days of good sunny weather.
-
That was what I've been thinking today. Some of the posts this evening seem more optimistic than earlier today.

Excuse me everyone.

What doyou rekon AmericanIceman?

I agree PW. In a sense she is maybe peaking now and (within 48 hours) belly out thus reducing her power. Again, we just need to wait.
Still concerned with the slight WNW movement. As KW says, if EWR (eyewall replacement) does soon take place how much off a wobble will that put her off course (or on course - whichever you prefer)!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Wait?..wh!...What sort of forecasting is all this wait and see policy? (Lol obviously).

I remember I watched the day after tomorrow with my girlfriend and I found it awesome because I knew that maybe just maybe the weather could get real nasty some time soon. She thought it was pure fiction, which of course it was though all us weatherbuffs also know that weather is a strange phenomenon!
George W you have been warned!! Take globalwarming seriously or we all in trouble
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
How did you watch the day after tomorrow? Have you got a link for that? (lol).

This below loop gives a good idea off it's movement. Slight wobbles, but pretty much on course. Will be intersting to see (using this loop over the course of time) if Rita significantly shifts in any other given direction:

(seems firefox is preventing some from viewing the radar loops - is this one visible to ff users?)

No probs this time
-
Wow Mondy! That really illustrates the speed around the eye (loop 2 - FireFox stopped me connecting to loop1).
Edit: OK. Got loop1 now. Wow again.

From BBc
But forecasters said Rita had taken the best possible course, with the eye of the storm missing land altogether.
Florida Governor Jeb Bush had declared a state of emergency in the state, which allows the state to oversee evacuations and call in the National Guard.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It's missed land so far!
Edit: They mean the best course as far as Florida, Cuba etc are concerned.

You're right Paladin...I'm working and I guess I shouldn't follow Rita's evolution
Mmm. Keep thinking about working and all the benefits (food, roof over head, etc) it brings too! Gripping stuff this.

This time yesterday T.S. force winds only extended that far from the estimated cetre!! She's gunna grow into a monster, Katrina was just a warm up act!
"Lovely Rita, Meteorollogically made,
Lovely Rita, meteorologically, made,

Stunning photos. Well worth the bandwidth

Open day at the Wessex sewerage plant in Avonmouth today. Came back on a bus through Andy's rain storm. Yeah, A4 (major road into Bristol from the West) struggling at about 4:30 to 5;00. See Martyn Hicks for North Bristol data. Considerable rain. Didn't see/hear lightning, - was on a speeding bus. Well worth a visit next year if you ever wondered where it all goes.
-
Looks a bit Phacelia. Similar jagged leaves, similar flowers - but maybe to tall and spotty. A hybrid?
-
Think I'll get the washing in. Bristol.

Sunny! Smirr free so far - bit chilly, still.
