Well maybe, but it's a corker in the Lounge now!
Nothing at all yet for the winds that are due to arrive this afternoon and overnight. I know it's not a monster now, but I'm still expecting to feel some effects on the coast down here.
Just wondering what are the strongest gusts you think the south coast might except later??

Are those last three images for today because if so it's showing snow a fair bit further west than the sky and bbc forcasts ive just seen. Hope they are right!!

After seeing a few snow graphs it looks like the snow stops at Brighton, im about 20 miles west on the coast, does any snow tomorrow look out the question?

This is not bad at all for an area right on the south coast that looked to be getting no snow.. about 2cms but we were lucky to be under a red blob an hour ago. The snow has only just stopped.

Wind has picked up a fair bit the last hour and i believe the worst is yet to have hit..?Its definately turning nasty along the South Coast according to recent reports. Anyone still awake down that way ?

I thought just infront and as it hits, i remember at the start of the year one came through around 4/5am and the intesinty of the wind and horrizontal rain coming down had my heart thumping as it really did look and feel like a tornado was blowing through my road!Im abit confussed is it the squall line that has the worst winds or is it in front of the squall line?

just had a short short followed by what i swear was a distant rumble on my neck of the south coast, the last few replys seem to confirm this, hoping for some better as have been in a storm gap the last few years!

Been quite for a while now but im just happy to have my first storm of the year. Weve had so little lightning the last few years ill take anything!

Its chucking down now and just seen a fork to my north, dont think ive had a proper nighttime storm in years!!

For the last ten mins ive been seeing lightning and hearing thunder not to far out to sea, anyone else??

I'm not sure if the strongest winds have reached our part of the coast yet? The wind has got fierce here in the half hour!Well seems to have calmed down here ,nothing to get excited about,also the lack of posts makes me think that maybe it wont be that bad.We will see

I'm currently in a hospital bed in Brighton with a nice window view looking out the the east, would really love a light display tonight to end this boredom!

Would never have expected a fellow Rustington resident on here!!!!!! We can only hope as it seems plenty is kicking off around us. I believe I finally hear rain!!!!!!!! Wahoo!!!!!!
Me neither the closest posters I've seen on here before have been bog or and Worthington residents. It for quite heavy there but judging by the radar won't long long, here's to the rest of the night!

gutted!!!!! i dont even think we have had rain, let alone any lightning or thunder!!!!! im just on the coast near brighton, utter tosh!!!!!!!!
We always seem to be in the gap lately! look like we could be inline for something in a couple hours time..

I hope this isn't to much of a stupid question but with this current cold spell over for now are we still at risk from atlantic wind storms like we had at the start of winter or are they only associated with that part of the year??

Just got home from work, has been snowing where i am on the coast since about 8 now and it's starting to settle on the grass. I've deffiently noticed a trend the last few years of getting let down by hyped events like saturday and then getting snow when it was less expected!this snow map of tweets for snow falling is really good http://uksnowmap.com/

Not sure if the site I use to get our temperature and dewpoint is correct, but it's showing me to have a temperature now of +1.9 / dew point -0.9.
not boding well with a temperature increase of +0.6 in the past 30 minutes and a decrease in dew point of +0.5 :-( just too close for comfort
just started snowing where i am on the coast.

im on the very south coast and at only 20 thought last night in bed at -5 was a record but been home for over half an hour afterward walking back from pub at -6 degrees and still shivering, while on the coast i am quietly confindent for the next few days!

hey everyone, ive been working tonight and only have phone access so apolligies if my couple of questions have been answered. Im on the south east coast and the wind seems to have picked up a fair bit in the last 15 mins, does it look like the coast may get winds like tuesday morning or not as strong? My second question is has a squall line developed with this low??

The latter is more relevent to alot of English people who will be reading their papers tomorrow morning to be fair!1 flake of snow south of Birmingham = 4ft of snow in Scotland.

Quick question to any one that knows my area (between Bognor/brighton).. have we seen the worst yet as been out and missed most of this..
